IDrive gone mad!
It’s been playing up lately both pre and post software download. M340i
Today it went mental…. Tried rebooting twice didn’t work. Frozen screen and then completely blank. Then blasting about 5 seconds of radio. Then going blank again. No controls working at all. Left car a while in meetings, went back to it and it started up; an X3M picture appears on the screen! Continued doing random stuff for rest of journey back home…. Come back to it at the end of day and now seems ok! Booked into bmw but they can’t look at it until 19th Jan!!! Service agent did ask if I agreed to it then a tech May dial in remotely to see what’s going on at their convenience prior to booking…., Anyone had similar issues? |

Once had an overheating iDrive on the F30 replaced under warranty but haven’t come across any on the G2X on here. Sounds like a software issue. Any updates available in the connected drive app? Or on the iDrive?
I had mega connectivity problems last year and a software update fixed it. Would be worth them remotely connecting to the car. |

So after a week or so of it having software update it started playing up again.
Main issue was that other than just random resets it now just wouldn’t connect to apple CarPlay but would Bluetooth phone. Gut feeling was an issue with the Wi-Fi connection. Booked back in and has had new head unit replacement fitted… so all good…. Well except all the apps have disappeared. I’ve tried up updates etc but nothing….. back to dealers…….. |
