Woke up and my NAV looks completely different, maybe I've completely missed the boat, was it always this way? It's way better than 2D, that's for sure.

Is it normal for the map to take full screen and the "status bar" docked in top right. As far as I remember my status bar is always taking full row at the top. Maybe it's the maps, I'll have to check today.

There's a proximity sensor that detects when your hand is near the touch screen. If you move away and don't touch the iDrive controller after a few seconds, then the map will go "full screen".

I'm not at my car, but I think you get that view if you set the map to "Reduced Mode" in settings.

I have an old version of iDrive (7.2019.38 I think). Mine doesn’t have the 3D option. Only option was 3D when approaching junctions or something of that sort. Clicking the compass icon at the bottom changes it from current position to always facing north and back.
Is there another setting I’m missing? I went through map settings as well as general settings and couldn’t find it.

Thank you very much! But unfortunately, I don’t have the perspective option. Just the direction of travel and always north IIRC. Definitely no perspective, because that’s the first option I checked. I probably need an update for that.

It could be that this option was introduced to US market only so late, but it makes no sense to me...
I have an issue with disappearing shuffle option when playing usb music, and it appears for a while after I hard reset the iDrive (crazy, right?).
I would try the reset as the last thing to be absolutely sure.

I did read about your disappearing shuffle issue. And it is crazy!

Does the hard reset remove all codings? If so, I can live without the 3D option If not, I can give it a try. But redoing all my codings again using a Bluetooth adapter will be a PITA.

Nope, all it does is just turning it off and on again. With engine running press volume/power button for approx 30 seconds until the screen goes blank, give it a minute to restart and check again. If that won't help then I guess you will need an OTA update (not sure about codings though).

The map view you pictured is really great, But takes a little getting used to since it changes its presentation as you drive, rather than traditional north at top look. I switched to this view a while ago as well

You can change map views by pushing controller to the right & selecting settings & then view. In addition to this view (perspective), there's north at top & 3D (only in select cities which give you 3D renderings of buildings). Think these were even on my F30

Well what's really strange is I got in our X7 later that day, same thing. Map was 3D view like that and I also didnt change that one. Weird right?

I did a hard reset and the perspective option appeared. Weird it was missing all thing while.
