Bm3 flex fuel vs OTS e50
So recently I had a bm3 flex fuel sensor installed into my car and started to use the bm3 stage 2 multi map to take advantage of flex fuel. My first fill up on flex fuel I filled without any measuring and it ended up at e46. It most definitely felt faster, but in my head I thought it felt slower than I remember the e50 map feeling, but I chalked it up to it being e46 not e50. Now I filled an e50 tank the other day and it still felt sluggish using flex fuel, so I flashed the e50 map to see if it was in my head or not. It wasn’t in my head, anyone else know why the flex fuel map would be slower even though it has the same level of e in the tank? Also, I did confirm with bm3 that the sensor was indeed functioning correctly by sending them a log and they confirmed it was ok.

Idk, I was kinda ruling it out as that in the first place, but I literally did a pull, parked and reflashed, did another pull and I noticed immediately. Its just not as jumpy, like the low end is sluggish, but the top end is about right.

Not really sure if there is a “solution” for this. Might just be how flex fuel is and I’m just retarded, but since bm3 already confirmed everything looks ok my only options for help are here and the fb group so we’ll see. In the mean time I just been using the sensor to confirm my mixes and just running the e50 map.

Have you been able to get into contact with BM3/protuning freaks at all this week? I sent them an email with my unlock file from Femto on Monday and haven't heard back from them. I'm thinking they're out for the holidays since they have always been super responsive. I installed the flex fuel sensor and have the same maps set to download. I'll let you guys know if I experience anything different.

only way to tell for sure is log both, check boost pressure, timing, and load. Numbers don't lie.

if you are not changing fuel octane, you are better off selecting the dedicated map for that fuel instead of the multimap

Actually… what you need to be doing is looking at the interpolation values when you’re running the multimap. The multimap can and does provide more power, provided you’re at the correct ethanol content for it. It will vary from map to map, however on the ACN91 ST2 multimap, roughly E60-62 gets you 1.0 for all of the different interpolation values. The car is noticeably faster than the E50 OTS map.
