'21 defaulting to power meter (not tach)
My '21 seems to revert back to the "power meter" in comfort mode 75% of the time upon startup, despite me setting to "tachometer" every time. I thought it was only occurring after I'd shut the car down in sport mode, but I've had it happen after I shut it down in comfort. It seems to happen more frequently when the car hasn't been driven in a few hours.
My dad's '20 doesn't have this problem. Anyone else experience this oddity? It's driving me nuts! |

I'm having the same problem with my '21 M340, but I have had it stay on the tach in comfort mode across start ups a few times. Unfortunately, haven't figured out what the trick is to make it stay all the time 😕

I have the same problem (thread here Rev counter permanently in Live cockpit? https://g20.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1748159) and I gave up. I added the nearest menu location to my "number shortcuts". So now when I sit in the car, I press 8 and set it back to rev counter.
An interesting thing I found online, I was watching a video about the new '21 models that have the mild hybrid engine and the guy talking about it said proudly how now the power meter is the first one you see so that you have an idea what is going on with the battery/hybrid technology. My car is a '21, but doesn't have the MHEV so it still looks like a bug to me . |

I have the same issue. I contacted my dealer and spoke to the genius who wasn't sure and told me he'd get the senior genius to call me back which never happened. What I have noticed is if I'm in comfort mode and set it and don't change driving modes, it'll hold 75% of the time as you said. If I cycle from comfort to sport back to comfort, it'll revert back to power meter. I have noticed if I use my phone digital key it'll default back to power meter even if my profile was linked to the key/digital key. From my understanding, the display and settings should be saved to the profile not the key, the key only is associated with the profile which loads up your settings. It's frustrating and I personally hate the power display, it's very confusing to read to say the least

This is so frustrating. Why the hell BMW has power meter at all?! That's a real question. I have a feeling that they (BMW) just don't care about traditional BMW drivers. All they care is Asian market and soccer mums opinion. This is disgraceful.

Mine defaults back to power meter occasionally. Has happened 3-4 times in the 8 months I've owned the car.
