what are your 1-8 buttons

Just curious as to whether I am missing some decent short cut.

1 - Talk Radio
2 - Talk Sport
3 - Radio X Classic Rock
4 - saved radio stations
5 - music collection
6 - Tyre Pressure Monitor
7 - journey data
8 - fuel station search

- navigate to Home
- configure Sport Individual (for when I want to play)

which for me are very handy.

- Alternative routes
- Radio 4 (It's an age thing!)
- OTA update check

I think there's a couple of others, but can't remember what they are.

so really, they're not, all 8 of them, hugely useful. I struggle to fill them up really, though have now got rid of 5 - music collection, moved them all up one to fill that space, and made 8 - turn display off.

Guess iD8 guys probably aren't missing them too much.

ID8 got me talking to a machine. Divorced the wife and moved in with the M340i.

I just hit Max A/C to turn A/C on. Turn Max off and A/C is of course left on. But agree it would be good to have button to turn on/off. Also one of the voice commands I can remember.

Need to put TPM on 4)

No idea what to do with the other ones as of yet. Handy to have though!

I think it makes more sense to keep the blanks at the 1/2 end on a RHD car. Less of a stretch. But I note that despite this being the UK forum you are in NL. So 7/8 blank makes sense.

When I picked up my car the advisor showed me how to make button 1 a shortcut to display a list of my favorite XM stations. You can easily see a list of about 5-6 at a time, so I just picked 6 for the list. Once the list is displayed, i can use the up/down steering wheel buttons to pick a station from the list.

Another button is for navigate home, but that’s about it.

6 - Journey data (I obsess over mpg right now)

Hmm. Interesting that Go Home breaks the stranglehold that Android Auto has over maps. So tweaked things and put that in, as well as AA Maps so I can easily flip between the two

But as said, a lot of people seem to "struggle" to fill the 8 up. I only put a couple of radio stations in, as I find it useful to reestablish DAB when it drops out (which it does an awful lot).

I use it to get to the temperature control blue to red vs on / off.
