M340 brake pad replacement

Swaping out my stock pads with project MU pads this weekend and noticed the stock pads have these parts in red but my MU's and other after market dont. Do I need to knock these out and transfer them or just install them without them. Thanks

They are not required. I don't use them in pads that don't have them.

Oh thank god, lol I was going to post this exact thread. I already installed my pads using my best judgement that they are just some noise dampening addition or related. What Project mu pads did you get? I got the HC CS pads and they’re great bit holy hell, the squeal is bad.

I went with the euro sport excellence pads. I have only done the fronts so far, and just bedded them in against some girodisc 2pc rotors. They bite well and are quiet as a mouse.

I have the HC-CS. They aren't noisy for me. They did make clunking noises from reverse to forward and vice versa for a bit since they're a bit smaller than stock and don't have the adhesive, but that went away after a while.
