G20 330i Adaptive M Suspension - A Must Have
Well, I’ve got my 2024 G20 330i here in the USA with the Adaptive M Suspension, a $550 upgrade and worth every penny.
Some things to note: 1. US Models - There are 2 default suspension settings within the various drive modes, Sport and Comfort. Default Modes = Sport, Sport Individual, Comfort, Eco Pro, Eco Pro Individual. You can code in Comfort+ and Sport+ using BimmerCode. This makes it “even stiffer” or “even softer”. 2. You have to code in Comfort+, it is a noticeable difference in comfort than even regular Comfort. 3. You have to get adaptive suspension! — People have said Sport mode on suspension is the same as non adaptive M Suspension and if that’s the case, it’s too stiff. Comfortable but stiff especially on large sharp fast bumps like freeway joints. Even in Comfort+ the car isn’t super comfortable, at the end of the day it still has much stiffer springs which the adaptive suspension doesn’t change. It’s like having 2 cars in one. Both a reasonably comfortable luxurious sporty car + a very agile sporty car. 4. What it changes — The suspension only changes the damping settings (compression and rebound). It doesn’t change how stiff the spring is or the preload. At the end of the day you have the M suspension so it will be a bit stiff no Mather what. 5. How it rides — the car still has stiff springs and tons of grip even on Comfort+. It feels a little “back seated” in the sense that the front end doesn’t track as well in Comfort or Comfort+ than sport, obviously. But on sport / sport+ the car is extremely agile and “pointy”, very impressive. |
