I am not so sure about that. My guess is that the picture shows some sort of luxury type trim level where the shifter is column mounted. Mercedes has moved to this setup in most its cars and it would not be surprising to have BMW follow.

Couldn't agree more, to many angles to work out in the rendering. Need to see it in the flesh. But first knee jerk reaction is — front end looks like a Lexus and a BMW had kid together, but then over the years the kid, like his idol Micheal Jackson, felt lonely and disconnected from the world even though he was fantastic as he was. Eventually the kid started down a path of multiple facial reconstruction surgeries and now it's a 2020 bmw 3 series.

Meh. Will need to see in person to reserve final judgement. It looks too busy upfront, almost civic like. Hopefully m3 will look better. Love the tails. Headlights are meh.

I said this on Jalopnik already, but stating it here for completeness. It looks schizophrenic. Is it a Lexus? C class? BMW? I don't know because it borrows design cues and lines from all 3. It just looks confused, and lacks the timeless, simple, and distinctive lines of previous 3ers.

They always make 2 options available like led & xenon. Base vs full loaded (cheap vs expensive)You can see the steering wheel and cluster mix across image. It's up to you what you want to buy for your car

I believe that it will be part of a package rather than an indidivual option. I wouldn't be surprised if BMW includes it in a package with navigation or something else that most people will want. Like a moon roof which I think is worthless, you will be forced to accept something you don't care for to get something you do.

On a side note, I think you're right. I never did an official count, but I think my F80 has fewer M badges than my 335. I even planned to get rid of the decklid badge, but ended up going with Tanzanite, which similar to your black, really makes the blacked out M logo pop, but in a subtle way...?

If I wanted a Lexus , I wouldn't be looking for one in here.
The whole rear and tail pipe design ... FAIL
Let's just hope it looks much better in person , and hopefully the ///M version is something nice to look at.
