Guess I'll be looking for a lightly used manual f80. Oh well.

On new X5 with the same buttons the seat button does both

My opinion may change but for now, but I am happy I bought a 2018 f80. Probably will be keeping it a few years because I have a feeling I won't like this style.

I have no skin in the game since no manual no sale for me. But, it's seriously looking like IS350 from the back. I don't get it, why? It's not like it's a new model that Lexus just put out...
Now that it looks like a Lexus and has no MT like a Lexus you might as well just get a Lexus for better reliability and possibly resale down the road.
The sad part is that BMW will still rent a boat load of these in some 320 trim as 299/mo. lease specials and think they have a winner on their hand.

All aboard! The boat, er, 3er has arrived for your voyage!

Seats look pretty cool and can't wait to see the laser headlights in action.

Those trapezoidal tail pipes on the fake M, I mean performance, model looks ridiculous.

A mechanical LSD. Maybe a modicum of steering feel. An interior that isn't largely melted Legos. We turn our F30 lease in next month, won't miss a single thing about it. Getting an X3 M40i, which honestly feels like it's from another brand.

That front bumper is way too busy and complicated.... Hopefully they do a better job on the M3

M2 looks badass in the rear.

M2/2-series tail lights are spaced too wide. Like it has downs syndrome. I kind of understand that BMW had to uglify it a bit as to not cut into M4 sales.

From the side it looks like a 5'2" guy that lifts too much to try to compensate for his shortness. It's just lopped off.

F30 isn't a looker either from the side, but at least G20 is an improvement. I already see my F30 as outdated.

Numerous designers at BMW have stated this in the past, that simplistic lines are appealing, tasteful and timeless. That is out the window now. BMW used to lead and now appears to be copying. The front look like a Nissan Altima, the rear looks like a Lexus IS. The interior is cluttered and overly complex where they used to pride themselves on good materials, functionality, and legibility.

Seems like we got a bunch of designers at BMW that want to change things for the sake of change.

Now I am sure these will sell like hotcakes, but BMW has lost its design edge and seems on track to lose its edge on motors as well.
Bye, Felicia!

Front bumper too busy as someone else noted. The tooth line from the bumper to the lights is just too much. Infiniti or Lexus anyone?

Thick chunky rear exhaust is a disappointment. The old round exhaust was so unique. Now this may as well be the rear of a Lexus, Infiniti, Cadillac, Hyundai etc etc. I guess they are just trying to make it look like everyone else s caboose.

SickFinga has a good track record, look at his past threads. And the blogosphere wouldn't steal and repost all his photos otherwise (without naming him, too. He leaked this last night and everyone is acting like this is new as of today).

+1 Digital dash
+1 Heated M steering wheel
+1 For the angular corner trim in the rear
-1 If the M4 variant doesn't have a shiftier LOL

Might play it safe with a 2019 M4 still.

Design-wise, the F30/2 and F80/2 are significantly better looking than the E90/2 lol

First I've heard about a lsd...
I lost faith in BMW's suspension a long time ago. You'd be amazed what a proper suspension tune and non RFTs do for the handling. Mine's an xDrive so will never be the last word but certainly better than any SUV! Hated the X3's leather (felt child-proof) but the rest of interior struck me as copy & paste from all the other models. Nice car, for someone else.

Well, there are opinions, and then there's wrong opinions. First off, you can't judge the build quality/material quality without seeing it first hand. I do recall an article a while back saying interior material quality would be a major focus with this vehicle.
There really is nothing illegible or complex about this interior. It's the standard BMW setup but now with the more angular design language. What did you expect them to do...just insert the F30 interior into this vehicle? BMW needed a wow factor with this interior and I'd say they did that without making it too flashy

Want to know how it drives, the size, rear seat room, pricing, etc

It looks fine, but it also doesn't wow me, need to see actual photos instead of computer renderings.
