Case Over Musk Offer for Twitter Remains Open a Week After Deal Was Closed
The social media platform and its adversary turned owner have stipulated to dismissal of the Court of Chancery case Twitter filed in July, but Chancellor Kathaleen McCormick has indicated she won’t be dismissing the case while issues raised by two stockholders remain. https://www.law.com/dailyreportonlin...20240102073455 In the real world this is what we call a conflict of interest. The same judge who ruled for Twitter even after there was proof of massive inflation of users is now the judge of Musk's compensation package. |

Pretty devastating news for Tesla:
https://www.cnn.com/2024/02/02/busin...ize/index.html This is a big deal. Front page right now on the Wall Street Journal site: https://www.wsj.com/business/autos/t...d=hp_lead_pos1 Even I may not get another Tesla after this. It looks like they are increasing the font size on a warning by five percent. I have been driving this car all over with warnings that are slightly too small. When will the madness end? This affects 2.2 MILLION Tesla vehicles. We have all had our safety compromised. Last edited by gblansten; 02-02-2024 at 09:55 AM.. |

Testing Suggests Highway Guardrails No Match for Heavy EVs
Jan 31, 2024 In research sponsored by the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center, the University of Nebrask-Lincoln’s Midwest Roadside Safety Facility is investigating the safety and military defense questions raised by the burgeoning number of electric vehicles on the nation’s roadways. A crash test performed on a guardrail on October 12, 2023 highlighted the concern. At 60 mph, the 7,000-plus-pound, 2022 Rivian R1T truck tore through a commonly used guardrail system with little reduction in speed. The test crash was intended to see how guardrails, which line tens of thousands of miles of roads in the United States, would fare against EVs that weigh thousands of pounds more than an average gasoline-powered sedan. Last year, the National Transportation Safety Board expressed concern about the safety risks heavy electric vehicles pose if they collide with lighter vehicles, adding yet another question mark to the viability of EVs for wider public usage. A UK study led by the University of Leeds in 2023 found the average electric car puts 2.24 times more stress on roads than a similar petrol vehicle – and 1.95 more than a diesel. Larger electric vehicles can cause up to 2.32 times more damage to roads. |

EVs anxiety. Don't expect the charging stations you plan to go do work. This will not be the last time it happen

I actually have 10,000 free Tesla supercharger miles. I have never even used a supercharger yet in a bit over a year. I have no point here. Just an observation.

So if they give 10,000 mile of free charging but overestimate range by 25%, does that mean 7,500 mile of actual free charging?

The original Model S in 2012 with the small grille wasn't bad. I forget what model year they brought the grille back, but out of all the current Tesla cars it is the most acceptable design in my view.
The Cybertruck is so friggin crazy over the top, I've grown to like it. But the Model 3 and Model Y and X all need a significant refresh along with the Model S. IMO of course.

If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
