What to ask dealer before delivery?

So my ‘25 M340i should arrive mid-October. I wanted to see if there’s anything I should do or ask dealer before delivery.

- My dealer claim the predelivery inspection is done at the factory so I could get the car essentially five minutes after it gets off the truck. True?

- Is it silly to ask to unwrap the car myself?

- I am getting PPF and paint correction shortly after I take possession of the car. I guess it wouldn’t matter if they wash the car ahead of time?

- Anything else?

No, that is not true. The dealer does a PDI prior to delivery to the customer.

You can certainly ask them to leave the wrapping on and not wash it, quite a few people do that.

If you are getting paint correction and PPF done, then you absolutely should tell the dealer NOT to wash the car. Save your detailer some time from the dealers filthy, swirl inducing hands, lol.

Will they provide a PDI inspection sheet?

I would imagine if you ask for one they may give it to you.

What's the reason for this? Do you go with a no-drill plate bracket instead and offset it from center?

Not all States require front plate, so why needlessly drill your bumper?

Ah ok, makes sense. I am unfortunately in a state that requires a front plate, wish it wasn't so since the cars look so much better without one

Ok, about to jinx myself. I live in IL. I have not had a front plate in 25 years. Zero tickets.

They don't really enforce it unless you part at O'Hare airport. Then they ticket you. Bizarre.

Haha that's great to hear. I didn't ask them to but my dealer left the front plate bracket off because they didn't want to drill into an M340 without explicit permission, so I've been rocking it without the front plate for just over a week now. My plan is to keep doing so as long as I can

As soon as mine was unloaded from the truck my CA made sure it wasn't drilled for the front plate.
