I think you've already identified the reason why it won't start. Your battery clearly does not have enough charge.

You need to buy a charger and charge it up overnight.

Probably a good idea to do this regularly anyway if you only drive 10 miles a week.

I'm quite sure battery level is not the only requirement. I had problems updating to the 11/2020.xx few months ago. It was downloaded but never ready to install.

I did one day trip of 600 km. Then the same distance on way back. Nothing. Update was still not ready to go. I'm quite sure 2 x 600 km is enough to charge the battery.

I kept driving for another month or two and nothing. One time update has even disappeared and car had to download it again. Still nothing after that.

Then one day I upgraded my maps using USB flash drive. The same day car offered me an update. A weird coincidence.

One thing that my car was parked in basement without phone/ mobile network signal. I heard this might be one of the condition. However I tried to parked outdoor once but nothing happen. Also when I OTA to 2020/11, it was in basement as well.

Anyway... keep trying. I drove 150KM yesterday for just to charge my battery....ha~

If your battery is so low that Start/Stop has been disabled and you only get a few minutes when you park the car, you will need to drive hundreds of km to get enough charge. 150km will barely touch it, and I doubt your start / stop would be working after that.

You need to buy a trickle charger and charge it overnight.

Yes there are other factors like it needs to have cellular reception so can't be parked underground etc, but based on the info you've provided your first trouble shooting step needs to be to buy a trickle charger and charge it overnight. Get a CTEK charger from any auto store, they are cheap.

Today I went to check my battery status and results is battery condition is good, guess after driving for 200km helped a lot.
However still not ready for update, technicians also didn't know why.
Tomorrow they will check senior guys…

Battery status is different from charge. Exactly what was the output?

Start / Stop being disabled is a direct symptom of low battery. If you don't have enough charge to switch the engine off when you are idling for 2 minutes then you simply don't have enough charge to do an upgrade, which takes 20 minutes with the engine off.

Well, the only number they said is battery capacity 850 and mine is 750 now.
Start stop was working again after driving for 200km and system won't prompt shut down after engine stopped for 10 mins.
That's what I know until now.
They didn't told me the "output " number.

Isn't cellular required only for update *download*? My car downloaded upgrade while driving and then I started upgrade after parking underground. That's how I installed 11/2020.xx and 03/2021.xx

Cellular connection is noted in my owners manual as required in order to report unsuccessful update to BMW.

At this point I honestly think OTA updates is a marketing gimmick that is not yet well integrated.

When your dealer uses there internal system they seem to be more up to date.

It locked mine up. 2020 G20 330i. Had it tuned and BMW had to do an update for something regarding warranty and it locked me out of my tune. I just went JB PLUS because I'm sick of this wild goose chase on bmw locking out the tuners. Once obd unlock can happen again I'll go with an ecu tune again but for now it's not worth the hassle in my opinion.

What version were you running before the update? Did you notice any change in the exhaust sound?

Have you noticed any change since your first ever update? Reason I ask is because my car is on a 07.2019 version and it says no RSU available even though the dealer said there are. They're planning on manually updating it and I'm wondering if I should do it (I want android auto and my car doesn't have it). I'm worried about losing the pops I have now (even though it's a 330i, it pops and bangs on sport plus and I love it).

I forget which version but it was a 2019 version. Now they updated to the newest one. My exhaust actually sounds better with the update. Of course it doesn't sound like bootmod3, but for stock to stock it does sound better. Even more that I coded sport plus

Too late for me because my M340i automatically downloaded 03/2021.50 that, of course, ruined the engine / exhaust sound. However, I’ve now disabled automatic updates via the General Settings menu…

My car automatically downloaded it too. I didn’t install it and then disabled automatic updates, but not sure if it’s going to install itself.. We will see who outlasts whom.
