It's part of the M Sport Plus package here in the UK.

Replaced my chrome grill with a gloss black today. The installer told me he had to remove the front bumper because of the active grill? I've watched videos on YouTube where the old grill snaps out and the new grill snaps in, no need to remove the bumper. Has anyone heard of this bumper removal being necessary? Was he just being overly cautious, or was he trying to charge me more money?

You definitely do not have to remove the bumper. Changing the grill is probably one of the easiest things to do even for someone not mechanically inclined.

Yes I watched the YouTube videos where it's plug and play, and he said they couldn't do it because of the active grille. Very fishy. Oh well.

All versions have the active grill. The portion that is "active" isn't even something you remove.

Yet at the same time, I think an all black grille looks great on Dravit grey.

I think black grills look particularly good on white or light colored cars. I'm actually not a huge fan of the M340 grille, I think the vertical 330i grill looks better. Depending on the color though, the M340 can look nice.

Its all about contrast, really.. thus very depending on color.

Agree with mostly all this! I think it's very color specific. Gonna go opposite of your opinion Retro I prefer the cerium on my Dravit. Dravit is one of those colors where cerium or black would look just fine. IMO the black grille makes the car look a little cheaper on some colors. Idk but the gloss black just doesn't do it for me. Like Burr said I think the black makes the grille surround look large and out of place (draws too much attention to the grille). If I was to change I would go with a 2 tone with the outside black and inside cerium but for now I'm keeping the cerium. Just my opinion for my car.. I think the black grill looks great on many colors

That looks great but especially good because you did the whole theme with gloss black intake trim, black mirror caps, and black wrap on your roof. I think just changing to the black grille and not changing the other Cerium pieces wouldn't look as good. You tied it all together!

Thank you! The only non blue/black parts left are the wheels and diffuser. I am planning to update them by the end of this year.

The m340i suits its cerium grill and accents, plus you can tell it’s the M340I. But I agree on the others the black looks best.

Order from this link you provided and got scammed. They charged my card and didn't provide me a order number or tracking information for my grill. I also sent them two emails and no one ever got back to me.

I will make this know on the forum.
