Regardless of the reason, their failure to deliver and subsequent responses, gives me pause as well. Their statement that their resources for the M-link project have been redirected is a red flag for me. I would not spend money on what appears to be technology that is being twighlighted. I do not blame them for wanting to make money, I just don't like how this was handled. |

If you really want to tune it you should just send it to FEMTO, there's a lot of people here who have done it and I haven't heard of any shipping issues. Sucks that's the way it has to be but it is what it is at this point. People have been waiting on MP since 2022 (or at least last August with the M-Link) for a stateside option and are still waiting and have no reason to believe it's coming soon.

The sentiment in this thread is a 6’6 guy saying he has the physical size to make the nba without actually being skilled at basketball. We have the hook up to unlock your car, we just don’t actually know how to.

I was hoping my tactics to poke the bear would have given us some explaination other than we gave up for other projects. If it were easy ECUtek and many other companies would have cracked already, just hoping someone does soon. I am not sure if MP working with the OEM's is a benefit or disadvantage for their success in it. However, their creditability is not to great right now and who knows if thats even true.

Hi All,
Max here from MISSION Customer Support & Advocacy! If you're a current or prospective customer, there's a good chance we've chatted or exchanged emails over the past year since I joined the team. Now that I'm handling our forum posts, I get the enviable job of diving in here. I just wanted to take a moment to level-set and help get our thread back on track. First and foremost, a huge thank you to all of you for your continued interest and support of the M-Link product! I’d like to clarify some points about M-Link’s capabilities and the discussions around potential future updates. M-Link has established itself as a reliable and solid tool for unlocking DMEs with a manufacturing date up to June 2020. It’s the only consumer product on the market offering world-exclusive backup and restore features, allowing you to safeguard your DME state and restore it seamlessly whenever needed. These features are compatible across any platform you’re flashing on, providing flexibility, reliability, and peace of mind. Even piggyback users with pre-6/20 cars who don’t require an unlock can benefit from creating a clean restore point for their DME. We’ve designed M-Link with both enthusiasts and professionals in mind, making it the preferred tool in the market. I’m also thrilled to share that M-Link sales have exceeded even our most ambitious expectations, and we owe that success to all of you. Your enthusiasm for this product has been incredible, and we’re committed to ensuring you continue to get the most out of what M-Link has to offer. Now, about 21+ DMEs—I know many of you are eagerly awaiting an alternative solution, and trust me, we are too. We’ve always been transparent in sharing our hope of bringing something to market once we overcome the challenges (technical and otherwise). However, I want to clarify that although we have been first to market with most every other unlock we’ve never promised a 21+ unlock on a specific timeline (and if we did that was a mistake – I don’t think we did – but have to give myself an out here.) As much as we’ve explored this, it’s a tough challenge, and only a couple of companies globally can perform 21+ unlocks, which involve sending the DME overseas. We understand that’s not ideal for everyone, but kudos to those companies for bringing something to the community. After catching up on this thread, I realize that some of our past statements may have been interpreted more optimistically than intended. While we did our best to communicate the current state of affairs, in hindsight, we could have done a better job setting expectations. That said, the current M-Link product delivers exactly what it was designed to do for pre-21 vehicles—it remains a trusted, high-performance solution for DME unlocking, flashing, and restoring, both here in the US and abroad. It is an ever-evolving platform that not only offers unprecedented consumer functionality but is also fueling the growth of hundreds of businesses worldwide, enabling small BMW shops to provide services that were previously too costly. We’re incredibly proud of this platform and the dealer network that has helped make it such a success. Moreover, we’re incredibly proud of M-Link’s ability to ensure DME recoverability for DMEs up to June 2020. However, this capability does not extend to 21+ DMEs. Even if we were able to unlock 21+ DMEs today, it would be irresponsible of us to release a product without a robust recovery solution in place. This is a core part of our philosophy and why a significant portion of our business remains in white-label DME recovery for businesses that encounter bricked DMEs. Every M-Link sold today, even with a basic unlock license, includes a backup and recovery feature to ensure DME recoverability and prevent issues during the flash or unlock process—something we’re particularly proud of and that remains unique to MISSION. Our commitment to transparency and ongoing development remains strong, but right now, we’re focused on delivering the best possible support and innovation for the M-Link as it stands today and while it grows and evolves. Should any new updates or capabilities—like 21+ support—become available, M-Link’s hardware is already designed to accommodate those future updates. That said, we’re actively exploring domestic solutions for these newer DMEs (no promises here, but we’re working on it). In the meantime, if you have any questions or concerns about M-Link’s current capabilities, feel free to reach out to us directly. My team and I are always here to make sure you get the most out of this tool. While I may pop into the forums occasionally, I won’t be responding to direct quotes here, as it’s tough to scale that level of support. But I genuinely appreciate everyone’s participation in this thread—whether the feedback is positive or critical. Thanks again for all your support! Best, Max MISSION Team |
