Crash the car.
Have it “stolen”.

There’s always options.
It was on street parked and some crazy animal of a human just decided to pop the trunk and take a bunch of electronic shit with him!

Monster!
Unfortunately he took the DME too.
Bummer.

In a house I lived in, if you walked 15min into the woods there was a car broken and rusted down to the frame… must’ve been there at least 30 years.

Wonder how that got there (and why).

It’s recommended that you unplug the battery so that this doesn’t happen… I could see the dealer using these error codes to see that the car was tampered with.

A tune + M-link bundle would be nice! Thanks Mission for the crack, no need for Femto for me, looking forward getting your tune now.

The visual is only one of many ways that piggyback is detected. We have posted that in the previous response, but in summary, piggy-backs are detected via blackbox data at the time of a scan. If your Piggy-Back indeed improves performance, then your acceleration value will exceed factory specs. For example, RPM/s acceleration value in specific gear is now being used to detect both Tune and Piggyback variants. Once the value exceeds let's say 10% of the "normal" the PnP variant gets triggered and you are flagged. Visual detection is still used sometimes, but becoming more of a thing of the past.

That is already part of the promotion that is going on now. A discount will be automatically applied to the cart once M-Link and flash tune are both added to the cart and a few board members have already taken advantage of that. However, I think it would be prudent for us to actually update the initial thread and mention that. Will be done soon!

I’d argue I was going down hill at the time! LOL. … What do you mean the load value doesn’t match..

I’m eagerly awaiting some sort of package for multiple cars. Plus support for my newer DME in my 2020! Unlike most of the comments in this thread though, you guys don’t owe me anything! Thanks for releasing this product.

The multi-licenese devices are available to our dealers currently, but you can reach out directly to us at "alex@missiontuning.com" and we can see what we can do for bulk orders for you. Also, your 2020 should be all supported already. Only reason they wouldnt is if your DMEs got replaced under warranty for some reason recently.

And very much appreciate that. Bench solution for 2020+ was never advertised or even talked about in any of our posts prior and this is just a development milestone towards exactly that. So appreciate your patience!

For those of us not BMW flagged, when are you going to introduce the "Flashback Pro" feature for M link so we can clean blackbox data? I think many will be waiting for this.

Flashback Pro hasnt had a formal announcement yet, just that its in the works. Release date will be made public as we get closer to to, however its targetted for later this year.

STOCK
Unfortunatly, we ran out of stock much much quicker then anticipated. The new batches are already in production and will be shipping out soon (around 8/16/2023). The original post has been updated and all future stock updates will be posted there as well as on our website.

It is 50/50 on weather or not your invoice will say “flagged” as user mentioned before, but internally you wil be flagged. And since you don’t have image of your DME before flashing, there is nothing that can be done just yet.
However, in our upcoming M-link updates, we will will be introducing Flashback Pro feature that will “virginize” the blackbox data even though you have been tuned before. The only limitation there is that you must have never taken the car to dealer after performing flash/piggyback and before doing the flashback pro. (If internal flag is set, nothing can be done, period). More on this wil be discussed in the upcoming months, however you might benefit from that feature.
In your current case, I would recommend having your firmware updated outside of dealer or just doing OTA update if available.
i wonder if coding with say Bimmercode will trigger any "flags"?

Hey guys i just wanted to say thank you for Alex, I got my M-Link Yesterday and had a problem with the unlock because my DME was unlocked previously then locked again due to software updates so the unlock was not working. I sent an email to Alex today and he responded on a weekend and even went to the office to push a firmware update on M-Link and I was able to unlock my car!

10/10 service if you're on the fence about this product don't hesitate. Also the unlock process literally took like 15 seconds.

Will a roadmap of future updates be published? It would be nice to see what we have to look forward to. Doesn’t need to have exact dates, but maybe something like “Q3 2023, Q1 2024”, etc…

Great work as always, I've been putting off a software update for the brake assist recall for years

As far as firmware updates go, is it by request only or can you force them once connected to the device?

Firwmare updates can be flashed at will by end user. The instructions, download link and change log are all in the User Manual poasted on the first thread.
