Mine shows exactly 2 MPH higher (always) than my phone’s GPS as well as the roadside speed warning signs that show what speed you’re traveling at. Doing a bit of reading, I found out that that’s how BMW codes the speedometer. The correction can be turned off in older cars to show the exact speed. It should be doable in the G20s too.

Or put another way (from a U.K. website) To ensure that they comply with the law and make sure that their speedometers are never showing less than true speed under any foreseeable circumstances, car manufacturers will normally deliberately calibrate their speedos to read ‘high’ by a certain amount. As your satnav is not the designated device by which a car’s speed is measured, it does not need to incorporate any fudge factoring.

sometimes my M340I is accurate. However using Waze its sometime 4 to 6 mph off. Showing lower than the speedo. Makes me wonder if I am going slow. Could be why drivewise from Allstate does not catch all my over 80 incidents.

This is no different from my E90 and was also programmed to be about 75 MPH (by gps) while driving at 80 by indication.
