Help diagnose a rattle that I think is coming from passenger side B-pillar

Lately I have noticed a rattle coming from the front passenger door or B-pillar area. Its really bad when going over smaller potholes, bridge gaps, etc. going 30-50 miles/hr. Already made sure the door pockets are empty and the seat belt was buckled in with no play.

Anyone else experiencing this?

I actually took mine to BMW of Austin for the same concern. They removed the headliner and fixed something near the roller for the sunroof. It hasn't rattled since, I'm so happy

My rattle from the B pillar turned out to be the passenger seat belt buckle rattling against the interior trim.

Still wondering how that got through the design stage as plenty of others appear to have had 'this as well.

Fingers crossed that is what yours is!

Sorry, just realised you covered off the seatbelt thing in the original post.

Have you seen this thread??

Drove around on horrible roads with two passengers trying to find the sources of all the rattles I have.

One rattle starts when the sunroof is on the vent function or fully open (glass included). Looking into fixing that at the dealer.

The second rattle was from the passenger seat belt buckle knocking on the plastic covering of the B-pillar.

The third rattle was after a car wash and using the through load facility, on the same day. Seems like it is coming from the passenger b-pillar but my passenger told me it was emanating from the trunk. Still can't find the location of this rattle as it worsens when going over potholes, steep hills or wavy roads.

Will provide updates when it is found.

RATTLE FIXED: So the technician was able to hear the rattle on his test drive, which is always great. Took him a couple of drives to figure out something in the front suspension was not torqued to spec.

Side note, i was told by SA that BMW only provides a 1yr warranty for rattles and squeaks so get those looked at asap instead of waiting till the next service.

Ugh, my car is starting to develop rattles too...10k miles of bank vault quietness. They are most pronounced when i go over bumpy roads at low speed and specifically speed bumps. I feel like they are coming from the pillars but could also be somewhere near the back driver's side window. Any ideas?

Curious if rattle is same in comfort vs sport mode? This isn't an idea for the source of the rattle unfortunately, just wondering how much difference it makes in case my car (at 2k miles currently) does the same. I saw a G20 review on Youtube where the guy switched from sport mode to adaptive (which for purposes of vibration rattle should be mostly the same as comfort mode), and you could see the jerkiness / vibration of the camera decrease the moment he took it out of sport mode.

I hear them in comfort mode. It's not like life or death and i'm not the type to run to the dealer over something like this b/c it's a hassle but still a bit disappointed that my brand new 50k car rattles. I was in an Uber the other day- new Honda accord with 60k miles on it and not a single rattle, sound or squeak.

OT but friends have Toyota Corollas and Honda Civics that have done 100k+ kms and almost zero rattles. It’s crazy how those cheap cars are silent compared to newer German “luxury” cars. Luckily my G20 is still rattle free but then, it has only 4.2k miles on it.

Noticed a rattle yesterday -- locked seat belt and haven't heard it since.

Is there a solution for keeping the seat belt quiet if not locked?
