The creaking is definitely annoying that it has persistently appeared in every new Merc. My CLS has it , although it will only do it of I put pressure on the trim so I may have just gotten lucky since I haven't noticed it while driving.

We are in the transition from the car as a mechanical analogue device to an electronic digital device. Expect more of Tesla like controls not less. It will produce cars with ever more features but less enjoyment to operate. Same as what happened to cameras in the transition. Better results but less enjoyment to operate.
