M340i Launch Control Wheel Spin
Has anyone with a RWD played around with launch control much? I always figured the point was to get the car up to speed as quickly as possible while minimizing wheel spin and such. But I get crazy wheel spin. Like a burnout with a cloud of smoke.
I have tried on warm days. Tires warmed up good and proper and not over inflated. Running Michelin pilot sports. Is this just to be expected with the power this car produces and not having xdrive? Last edited by Auditobimmer42; 10-17-2020 at 06:09 PM.. |

Don't hit the button when you press your foot down. Ease off a little in first then floor it when you hit second. Played with it a little today and wheels were burning every time I hit the button under the gas peddle.

Did you press the traction button once and release to activate sport traction? OR did you long press and hold it to deactivate traction control completely?

I will give this a try. I keep the pedal mashed down past the kickdown point when I release the brake. I will try to ease off of it to see if that helps

Weird! I have only done it once in our car so far. It worked as stated. Pressed all the way past the activation switch and held my foot there all the way through 65mph.
