It works in sport or sport+. Not a 100pc sure about the individual option though.

Break in as per manual plus did a 'voluntary' oil change at 5k

I'm reading docs about 330, pretty sure launch control is similar for 340. Here you go

After multiple attempts I cant seem to activate the Launch Control on my 2020 M340i.

I was able to do it with ease on my F36, but I cant for whatever reason seem to get it down on the G20.

I'm in sport plus. Engine is warm. Pressing the traction button once. Shift lever to the side.. any suggestions?

That's weird. Are you flooring the accelerator (past the kick down button) while the brake is almost to the floor? According to the owners manual in my car, my car has to be driven a certain number of miles after starting for the engine to warm up and LC to become available. But I've found that a couple of miles for the oil temp to rise and engine temp to show halfway is enough to enable LC. It's effortless in my 330i. As long as the traction button is clicked to show dynamic or sport stabilization, it should work.

Break period allows for sport or sport+. Why would not it allow??
Just different mapping.
However, the RPM is the main "concern"...

Doesn't that shit strain the gearbox. There was a dude with a cracked transmission after 20 something launches.

I'm sure that wasn't the reason...

Try pushing the accelerator pedal to the floor when the car is off. You will feel a button just before you hit the floor. This is the launch control activator. So when the car is on you’ll know how far you need to stomp. It how I figured it out. Be quick when the car is on too.

launch control not practical! For personal 0-60 times perhaps. But for racing someone at a light or on a track. Within 3 second rule is useless. Cant time a light!

Do all 330i's have launch control too?

That's funny, but honestly i am surprised BMW has not yet made this a subscription based service. They could be charging per launch.
I would pitch this idea to BMW

Good way to keep track of the vehicles "launch" history as well if you ever purchased used

Just speechless, I just bought my M340XI, and tried launch control however first 2 times I failed and I did just break+acceleration up to 2000 RMP or so was SUPER AMAZED how the car pull.
After watched few videos I manage to do 2 launch controls and really my last 2 cars was: 1st 535d with hybrid turbos 400 hp 700 nm, and 2nd cls 55 amg 500 hp 700 nM but those cars are only powerful after 100 I have never experience such acceleration before I just felt like my head will explode and couldnt breath.. IM SUPER amazed this car is absolute beast for the money.
You get car with superb acceleration and good fuel consumption.
