What do you guys think of this

http://abc7news.com/news/no-charges-...acker/1802748/

No charges will be filed against a Florida man who came to the aid of a sheriff's deputy being attacked last November.

Video of the incident shows Ashad Russell walking toward the deputy, who was pinned to the ground by Edward Strother. The incident happened on I-75 in Lee County.

Russell appears to order Strother to get off the deputy, and when he doesn't Russell shoots and kills him as cars full of people looked on.

"He's about to fire dude, oh my God, don't bro, oh my God," a witness could be heard saying on the video.

The Florida State Attorney's Office determined the shooting was justified because the deputy's life was in danger.
Russell had a concealed weapons permit.

Not sure why the media felt to need to address if he had a concealed weapons permit. In Louisiana it is completely against the law to reveal the identity of someone who holds a concealed weapons permit. Plus its not like he was concealing it!! He had it out in the open for everyone to see in the video.

Oh see here you just print out the forms, fill it out correctly, and submit two photos, copy of your ID, two copies of your fingers, and the payment, and you mail it off. You dont go to an office or anything.

I just found this out the hard way. I just moved to FL about 2 months ago and procrastinated on getting a FL CCW. Called yesterday and the earliest I can get in is May. Luckily my VA permit is reciprocal in FL so I can still legally carry, I just can't bypass the wait period when buying. VA took their sweet ass time to give me my permit too. I received a "temporary" permit about 45 days after applying which was only application and a letter saying it worked as a temporary permit. Then it took 87 out of the 90 days the temporary permit was valid for them to send me the actual permit. Keep in mind I have a clean record and was working at a gun store and had a VA firearm dealer number too.

I need to get mine transferred from NC to OH. Also thinking about joining outdoor range about 45 minutes away. Has 100 yard steel target which would be good for AR practice. Might join classes also, depends how much all this would run.

It took me six months to get my permit in New York, had to get three or four references, a whole background check. This was in 1990.

You can do that too, but things tend to get lost doing it that way. I actually did that first and didn't hear anything for more than 8 weeks. Called to check on the status and they didn't have my application in the system.

So i made an appointment and did it all in their office, which was much easier. Oddly enough, the check i sent into them some 6 months prior via mail, cleared the bank about 1 month after getting my permit. I contacted them about them charging me twice but it was futile. I just resigned the extra cash and carried on.

Initial membership isn't bad, like $230 or $280 so I'll likely end up doing that first. Would be nice to shoot steel case again since I have so much of it.

They should be applauding his actiins and saying how wonderful carry permits are. There was a guy who stabbed about 10 people in a mall before he was shot dead while getfing ready to stab someone ge was on top of. The sound byte the media used was an old woman saying i can't believe they let him carry a gun. Its all bs one sided coverage.

Quiet now. We don't want to draw attention to ourselves. Half of BP will be banned.

It's like one of those threads that just...happened. And nothing was done. So people restrained themselves to only talking about those evil pew pews in this thread and nowhere else.

And thus far, the mods seem happy to allow us to continue to respectfully discuss things here, and not elsewhere.
