Didn't think I would like it when I saw it online but it looked much better in person. Took it for a drive, liked the way it drove and how fast it was so I ordered one from the dealer the same day. Now the wait till it arrives hopefully by the middle of January.

Got my 2021 M440 XDrive this past Saturday. Two words = LOVE IT! Don't get me wrong --- still love my 335D as well (torque monster) but this thing sounds like a damn race car in sport plus mode.
I got Black exterior with black interior with the nice stitching and black rims. Sure looks pretty but will be a lot of work to keep it clean Last edited by Blown284; 12-31-2020 at 12:28 PM.. Reason: Added a picture |

I actually have to pat BMW on their back for doing something different. History has proven that no one can please everybody. If BMW sticks to the older design, there will be a bunch of people that says its boring and design hasn't change for decades.
Talking about ugly big front grill; just look at Lexus and Audi. Their grills are getting much bigger then this 4 series and the sharp angles on the Lexus just doesn't get much love from me. But and again, it is only me. Their sales hasn't gone down due to the design, I see so so so many of them on the road. Did people criticize it when it first came out? Of cos!! But did the company do anything about it?? Yes, make it even bigger and translate that design to all their line ups. I honestly doubt after spending so much money in R & D, BMW is gonna drop the design. I'm going to say this design is here to stay. And you know what? People are not going to stop buying. As for Ford listening to their customers? LOL That's just marketing. No one will know if that design was from the designer reading forums or just came up with the idea from an afternoon nap. All marketing and nice wordings are used for people to buy the new F150, because consumers will automatically think the company listens. Indeed no company listens to words, they only see cash flow and profits. |

Hit the nail on the head! Many bitch that they all looked alike in different generations. I like a new styling direction after having 6 Bimmers before I got the M440xi a couple weeks ago. Love the updated looks and performance!

I finally saw a 430i M sport in person today, in white. In person, honestly, the grill kind of looks good. I just think if the chrome on the grill is removed, like the M3/M4, it would look even better. Definitely not a photogenic car but it looks pretty decent in person. Hope to see how it works on the GranCoupe and i4

So I was going to order one in metallic black and beige leather and then load it up because we couldn’t find one already built. Couldn’t order it and no guaranty when because they are out of HK stereo option and ventilated seats...cancelled that. Then looked at what was out there with as much of my wishlist possible and came across this Artic Race Blue and Oyster combo in Cincinnati and shipped it up here. I must say I like it now more than my first choice and get tons of positive comments, mainly what color is that? So the 19th will one month and I’ve seen exactly zero on the road. What combo did you pick? It’s really enjoyable to drive and the attention is fun with lots of people wanting to talk about it. The sales figures through March on the 4 look good. Wonder if the first person in another one will wave Last edited by Vin0770; 04-13-2021 at 12:58 PM.. |

I get the same results. It's gotten so bad that when I drive it the game is how many people are going to stop me and say something about my car. I also have yet to see another one on the road.

Is the blue like in the photos?
Hi Vin, I'm about to finalise my factory order and am somewhat torn between the Arctic Race Blue and Tanzanite Blue paint.
The Arctic Race Blue seems to look like a dolphin grey in some youtube videos and bright metallic blue in many of the media photos. Here's a youtube video where it looks like a dolphin grey at certain angles when the guy moves around the car. Since you own the Arctic Race Blue, what does the colour really look like in direct sunlight? Regarding the new grill, while it's controversial, I think it looks fantastic and gives a futuristic look to the front end. The smoother rounded rear gives the car an elegant look as well. Overall, Bmw did a very nice job with the all new design of the 4 series imo.

I’ll tell you what I think but it’s through the story how I got it for perspective. The last Saturday in February I purchased a build at my local dealership and Monday March 1st they got on their computer to the factory to place the order because we couldn’t find what I wanted in the states. Black Sapphire and Canberra beige pretty much with everything on it and then the factory computer said try again next month we have no more H/K stereo and ventilated seats...I said pass. Next was my compromise on finding something in the states with as much of my wishlist intact. This Artic Race Blue and Oyster was 500 miles away in Cincinnati and they shipped up to me. There was a white one at the same place with my entire wishlist that I passed on because I couldn’t do another white vehicle. So I compromised the adaptive cruise control package for the color combo and all I could go by was dealer pics on the website. The car was delivered and prepared two days before I picked it up and I stopped by to take a look. It was cloudy dreary day and when they pulled it around and my first impression was how dark it seemed. My minds eye expected a lighter blue, but it was beautiful and the first person to say wow... was my wife who was bummed I got a blue car. Two days later and picked up and bright and sunny and it was a great surprise how much lighter blue it looked. So my thoughts on this blue is that the light that you see it in really changes the blue you are seeing. The first night drive from inside the car I thought I was driving a black car again. For what it’s worth I’m happier with the blue and oyster than the black that I thought I had to have. My first blue car in 30 years and I get more comments on this color than the SHO that had a black metallic with gold, purple, green flecks that you only saw on the sunniest days. They didn’t have any blue cars on the lot Artic Race Blue or Tanzanite and I haven’t seen a Tanzanite in person yet but I like the pics of it too! I will say that dealers seem to spec out blacks and grays with dark interiors so when mine showed up all sales guys checked it out and even the GM came out of his cave and commented that maybe we should order a few like this. The dealership ordered cars all seem to be black, gray and white with dark interiors, only customer orders come in different flavors 😎 |

Thanks for the detailed explanation Vin. It sounds like the Arctic Race Blue paint is a bit like a chameleon adapting to its surrounding.
The color looks fantastic with the Oyster interior too. I would order in the same spec if not for my OCD with keeping the seats spotless. Instead I specced mine with the Cognac interior in the hope this color hides stains. I was leaning towards the Tanzanite Blue as I prefer darker color cars but seeing how the Arctic Race Blue highlights the curves on the car better, I'll keep this spec for my order. Thanks again and enjoy your stunning car! Cheers.
