My maps in the central display between speedo and odometer have disappeared.

I've also lost the ability to cycle through the different options in the middle of the odometer.
Pressing the button on the end of the stalk does nothing. I can only show the current gear.

I've confirmed I have the correct settings selected in the setting menu. I've also tried holding down the power button to reset the iDrive system. Have also let it power cycle with a good night's sleep. No luck.

Anyone had this issue?

Your car probably just needs to be reprogrammed at the dealer.

I had a similar issue (map disappeared) just after the latest OTA software update. It just happened when driving and there was no way to bring it back. I left car parked for a couple of hours and it fixed itself. No issues since then.

It happen more often to my car as well especially after updating to the 2020/11 version of iDrive.
And I found this happen to me after pre caution of collision warning (a big red car icon on HUD and central display)was trigger.
I was just to post this problem and the I see this post.

I believe part of the system crashed but it will back after you turn off engine after 15 mins since iDrive will full reboot.

This has happened a handful of times with me and I've just had to hold power to force a reboot and it comes back.

This also happened to me. Been happening very frequently. Already took it to the dealer and they updated the software. Still happens.

Another thing that happens is the main display going black and says "No signal".

What have you guys done to solve it?

I have lost the audio album art/song display that used to show up on the right side of instrument panel, it had a cool fading away effect into the rest of the display, is anyone else missing this now? It used to be there when I would have bluetooth or Android auto playing but now it is gone no matter what the source.
