IND | Eventuri G20 3-Series (B48) Carbon Intake System Introduction
AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER NOW Eventuri’s wizardry continues to amaze amidst BMW’s new turbo era—their new G20 (B48) intake has been developed to provide the turbo with a less restrictive flow path whilst maintaining low inlet temperatures. While retaining heat within the exhaust is a fantastic tool to optimize the thermal efficiency of a turbo, it is detrimental for overall engine performance on the intake side. Eventuri has once again implemented a sealed system with a gold reflective heat shield to help combat heat, but the G20’s design features something we haven’t yet seen from the UK-based outfit: they have incorporated a clever secondary feed via the wheel arch area. Airbox volume has also increased while bearing in mind a recess for potential strut braces—now that’s attention to detail. THE AIRBOX FEEDS: EXPLAINED The stock airbox draws air from a single duct which extends to the front bumper area. During development we identified another area to draw cold air from which was a gap between the wheel arch and the chassis on which the airbox sits. To utilize this feed, we extended a scoop at the back of our design which protrudes into the wheel arch and can even be seen after installation behind the front wheel. This second feed allows the turbo to draw from a larger area therefore reducing the restriction. TURN UP THE VOLUME Volume increases in the intake tube as well—Eventuri’s smoother flowing tube boasts a 4.3” internal diameter (versus 3.2” OE) that tapers down to match the turbo inlet. This equates to a massive 82% increase in cross sectional area over stock while also eliminating the turbulent flow path inherent to the flexible, factory accordion tube. Eventuri’s version also features a CNC machined fitting for the temperature sensor and breather adaptor. As a note to highlight, the G20 B48 OEM airbox system was updated in cars built after November 2018. Cars with production dates after November 2018 feature a temperature sensor inside the inlet tube. Prior to this date, all airbox systems had an airflow sensor, so it is imperative to understand which intake you may require. For all intents and purposes, V1 denotes the pre-November 2018 cars and V2 represents post. BESPOKE CONE FILTER: EXPLAINED Our cone filter is made from a non-woven mesh material which is double layered and is ISO tested to ensure that filtration is in line with OEM standards. The filter is cleanable and very stable at high temperatures with the base material being Urethane. The filter incorporates and internal flow guiding cone to help aid the airflow to converge while reducing the possibility of a stagnation point in the middle of the filter space. The filter medium has a significantly larger surface volume than the stock panel filter.

Yes, the OE filtered air-pipe and airbox are the same across B46 and B48 variants.

Yup. Eventuri CF systems go for $1000+ for other cars. I'm not surprised at the almost $1400 for the G20.

I love this intake, but I feel like at $1400 for just an intake that will maybe give you 5hp at that price per performance gain you might as well have spent the $6500 more assuming no displacement taxes for the B58.
edit: tbf carbon fiber is just plain expensive...this would make more sense on a $100k M2CS imho. |

I would love to see a dyno for this, I'm expecting it to outperform other options given its premium pricing.
