All the 4 series cars are built in Dingolfing, Germany. So info about 4 series builds probably doesnt help anyone trying to estimate how long a 3 series build will take.

Finally got a production allocation in late July. Called hotline earlier this month and found out the build week is scheduled for Week 37 (Sept 12)

Yesterday (Aug 29th), finally moved to "Production Begins". (status 150)

BMW M440i xDrive Convertible Aventurin Red Metallic, Cognac Perforated seats, Packages: Premium, driving assistance, dynamic handling, parking assistance, adaptive handling, 50 year emblems, harman kardon sound, wireless charging.
....
Aug 29- Production begins
Sept 8 - Exterior Body Assembly (AM), In the Paint Booth (later PM)
Sept 9 - Entering Assembly Line (later PM)
Sept 12 - (Changed every few hours) Assembly in Progress (AM), Quality Check (AM), Final Assembly (PM), Awaiting Carrier assignment (PM).

Sept 12 was the original "Build date" shown since the order was accepted in early Aug, and that is indeed when the assembly was finished. Hopefully it makes it onto the ship scheduled next week!

Congrats! You must be very excited. Look forward to see your car's photos or even some video, and some quick initial review. Very curious about the real world EV driving distance and combined MPG. My 2023 330e (build week 36) will probably arrive sometime in Oct.

I am super excited for it, eagerly waiting for the notification that it has been shipped from the VPC to the dealer. I will post plenty of photos when I get it and have it all detailed. I drove one in the past for about a 70 mile trip and got 68 mpg in eco pro hybrid. Mostly freeway when I got that but I am pretty happy with that number, although when it's my car my foot might be a little bit heavier LOL. I will keep updates on my fuel consumption because my commute is about 38 miles round trip so the electric should help a lot with that.

Even as of yesterday, my car's status was "Production Begins". But today it's now in "Assembly in Progress"!

FWIW, the 4 series GC is built in Munich. 4 series Coupe and 'vert are built at Dingolfing. Isn't this forum for both 3 and 4 series?

couple questions to anyone who might know...

1. are cars mfr'd in Munch shipped from Bremerhaven?

and

2. how do you determine which vehicle carrier vessels are at the various German ports and their arrival/departure dates, as well as the destination ports they are traveling to?

My car (build week 36) has been in "Final Assembly" stage since around 9/15. For those who have already received their cars, what is your best guess when my car will arrive at my Northern California dealership? Around mid October?

Because interest rate is keep rising (thanks to our Federal Reserve and stupid government who don't know what they're doing), I'm thinking about applying for finance now to lock in the rate. However this only locks the rate for 30 days, so I don't want to do it too early...

Yes and you should be able to get the ships name once the ship is a couple days out to sea from either your dealer or BMW Genius. Your "My Garage" should also update at that time.

I'm in the same boat… a NorCal build on a 330e (scheduled for w 39). Looks like it's taken 3 weeks for your build to get to this point? That's fast!

Hey I just wanted to ask you, what's the process once it reaches the dealership?

Once it reaches the dealership, they will stock it in and send the car through the shop for Post Delivery Inspection, then send it over to detail and charge the car to 100% if it is a PHEV. I was able to pick mine up the day it was dropped off, 'Day 0", but had to come back the next day for paperwork. A realistic expectation would be 1-2 days after it arrives at the dealer. Hopefully that answers your question but if not feel free to ask more questions!
