I already voted no, but I just keep on wanting to hit it again and again.
And this NEEDS to be on the front page to get everyone's votes.

The G22 is probably a better reference than this severely distorted G82 picture.

What matters in the end is what we think when we drive it.
Back then people were concerned about size and weight rather the exterior design. I suspect a majority have moved on to other makes or for the moment moved over to the M2.

More than a third like it before seeing it in person. I think the numbers will even grow when these show up at the dealer. I have a feeling too that the car will impress in real life as it is so aggressive looking.

The leaked picture is a distorted bulbous, stretched mess of a photo.
But when I look at the G22 and the previous G8X leaks I know I will love it IRL.

The mules overall shape also look really good.

Bring it on!

It would be interesting to add “before reveal” to this poll title and then start a brand new poll after the reveal and compare to see if the reveal changes the result.

Ha I said that back in may... didn't get a positive vibe

I agree mods should lock this one 9/22 before reveal and start a new one after the formal presser and pics

What matters in the end is what we think when we drive it.
I've been posting here for a long time and on other boards and usenet forum before these, and in no way was the E30/E36/E46 hated like the renderings/leaks of the G8x so far. The closest was in 2001 when the E65 7 Series was soundly trashed by most and was given the derogatory "Bangle Butt" moniker.

And I disagree that what (only) matters is how it drives. Other things like how a car looks and sounds, quality/reliability, cost, etc., all cumulatively matter to our ultimate buying decision.
Agree. For me in the number one position in choosing a car is how it looks. After that overall performance, after that uniqueness and wow factor, after that quality and reliability. ( most cars of today are reliable and built well so that's a given). Cost is then the ultimate deciding factor.

I am absolutely shocked this thing is going to be released, the numbers are trash. I think BMW in the coming years, with the LCI, and ton of different "models" will fix these issues. The 2015 F8x weren't nearly as good as the 2016, suspension upgrades followed immediately in 2016.

Based on looks alone, not really a fan. But I'd honestly wait till driving reviews come out to fully judge the car cause what really matters most in M3s is driving dynamics

That might be the case but can't get around the weight of the thing. The silhouette looks good to me, better on the M4, and apparently the M3 looks menacing. But I am a hard pass on the extra weight, very hard pass on a VF slushbox, and well the grilles which I will only mention as they have been beaten to death.

This M3 might as well be the F90...unless you tick the manual option. So if you don't like the grilles get an M5. But having raced M5s on track, I'm pretty sure I know the dynamics of this thing, and won't be for me as I doubt it will be far off...

I'm afraid the M2cs and the F80/82 M3/M4cs are the top of the mountain in my lifetime for these cars. The look yes I will get used to, we all will, but the specs 100% will prevent me from ever owning one. Audi and Merc are now legit contenders in my book, if not my immediate preference.

Overall, I'm not a fan of the design. It's a shame since I do like how the M340i looks. It's the front end that completely ruins it for me. What I dislike even more is the weight. I expected a bit heavier but wow, that's quite the jump.

On the complimentary side, I'm a huge fan of the interior and those optional seats. Wow. I want that seat in my M2C.

In the end I voted dislike. I was thinking of making the jump in a few years to the M3 for additional practicality, but I just don't see it happening now. We'll see actual reviews soon, but I have a real hard time spending $75K+ on an exterior that makes me dry heave.

I like it a lot more than I thought I would. Things I dislike: weight.. anticipated cost (it went up 8 grand in the UK, hopefully doesnt follow suit in the US).
