Tyre Pressures

Just had the car parked up for a couple of weeks and had a tyre pressure warning in the front tyres. This was via the car message centre but the mobile app still shows an okay status ?

Anyway, the panel in the car which has the following pressures listed and wanted to understand what people are using.

Front tryes are - 225/40R 19 93Y - 33 PSI or 41 PSI for ECO ??

According to the panel in my car, for 19R :3 people - 225/40 R 19 Y 93: for front 39 psi rear 39 psi
For ECO; front 46 psi rear 46 psi.

Think you have been reading off the table for 225/50 R17 98 Y.
I stand to be corrected of course!

Just checked the car message centre and it recommends 2.5 bar on all four tyres which is 36 PSI.

Different what the panel says... I am now officially confused

The labels are different! The type pressures are different!
Perhaps they are different due to the model of the car, mine is an M-Sport with adaptive suspension.

Should be on your Dealers receipt or Bill of Sale.
Failingly that there are various web sites that if you type in the cars VIN number all should be revealed.
Even so the tyre pressures are quite different and unless you haven’t got sport suspension and I do not think that can be specced out for the G20 unlike the old days.
Bit of of a mystery!

Go with the plate on your door pillar, not the software.

That’s got nothing to do with suspension, it’s for adaptive drive.

BMW configuration builder says M Sport + package gives you “Adaptive M Sport suspension”

The Adaptive mode button is part of the control (one option) for the adaptive suspension.

Sorry to trouble you 5 years later - was your car using runflats or non run flats if you recall? also, a G20 car?

I'm switching from run flats to non run flats and would like to know the correct pressures for non run flats as i am guessing yours were ... thanks for your help

Should be on similar pressures, if tire sizes and ratings are the same as the run-flats.

Some users find a couple of extra psi give a better feel. Best to start where you are now (with RFTs) and experiment.

Hopefully the BMW recommended tire pressure will not wear out the middle of the tire quickly.
My Genesis G70 was maintained by the dealership its entire ownership with exact recommended pressure on nitrogen and yet my middle went bald on the Michelin PS4 for the rear tires.
Granted the M340 is is a different car and PS4s but it is recommending a higher pressure than my G70 did with the same size staggered setup.
My tire shop recommended going down by 1-2 psi especially during summer cause we can have up to 36C days here in Ontario.
