Paint chip repair

Anyone do a small paint chip repair? If so, what do you recommend. I have a very small chip on the good (maybe 1/16") but it looks like it's down to the metal. I have the alpine white color.

Dr. ColorChip, but it takes some patience to make it look seamless.

Patience .... I was afraid of that. I forgot to add that I leased mine. Maybe I shouldn't attempt it on a lease?

Does the warranty not cover paint tear?

I never would have thought a warranty would cover a paint chip. I thought it would be "wear and tear".

I second Dr Colorchip. Just be patient and do several layers to blend and fill.

Buy the BMW paint chip repair in matching colors and clear coat, and go to a good detailer. They should be able to get it done and make it almost impossible to detect.

The undercoat is white as well, so if you see metal definitively repair it.

I believe so. When I was discussing getting film on my car, my SA said BMW uses a white undercoat -so its a good idea. Maybe, I misunderstood, but I would think they use the same undercoat on all BMWs.
