Here in the UK, full Merino is £2750 (approximately 4500 CAD).

I am yet to see a G20 with full Merino, will let you know when I see if its worth it or not!

If its just going to be a weekend car, definitely consider the C43 (agreed the soundtrack is something else), but if you are after a daily commuter that can occasionally provide a bit of fun, go for the M340i in my opinion.
It’s going to be a daily use car so I think you’re right the M340i is probably the better all rounder.

That’s great, thanks for your replies. I’ve currently got an Audi with tech pack that does multi connect Bluetooth, and never even thought to check that other makes / models also do this as you just get used and take for granted these things when they just become the norm (previously had a BMW 5 series touring and that didn’t do it).

Mercedes reliability is a LOOONG way from what it used to be. Basically the brand has gone down market reliability-wise in the last 30 years. Go to Munich (quite) a few years back and you'd still see all these 1980's Merc's still driving around with 750k on the clock, still going strong. Just decent engineering, not compromised to some globalised mass market pricing.

I've owned a 2004 C270CDI that wins the award for most unreliable car I've ever had in 30 years of driving (as was the dealer at fixing anything), a 1990 560SEC (weekend classic) that was rock solid (after fixing its "lack of love" for a few years), a 2008 CLS 320CDi (with Brabus chip) that was great (only 1 issue in 42 months of ownership) and a 2015 C300h that was off the road for 6 weeks for various warranty issues during my 14 month ownership experience (yep, about 10%!).

On the BMW train I've owned a 1994 318i SE, a 2003 M3 and a 2006 330d M Sport, none of which caused me any major issues. Have heard BMW has also been struggling with reliability over the last decade however... About to jump on the 330e train :-)

Extending Storage
Lumbar Support driver and front pass

Hopefully get my hands on it 1 September!
Had the call from the Dealer, car arrived Tuesday and get to pick it up proper on Sunday! Popped down to have a look today. Excuse the pictures, it's still in transport mode pre PDI etc so is riding high due to chocks in suspension. So chuffed with the colour, sounded great and had a lot of attention from passing folk whilst I was there.

So today was pick up day. Over moon with car 😃

The lighting doesn't do the colour justice tbh…

Subscribed to the thread to see this! I'm currently debating full Merino black or tartufo for a 330i...

Wow congrats, looks awesome!

What are your thoughts on the car so far?

If you could upload a video with the exhaust sound that would be great as well!

Also, are planning to follow the break-in period?

That looks lovely madfifer, how was your first weekend with it?

If extedned is full, I'll be more than happy to take some pictures if/when mine arrives - sadly it's already slipped to a week 39 delivery.

As far as I know, extended doesn't include the dashboard or the top of the doors, otherwise its the same.

Just checked the status of mine, it is 9000 Departed Plant.

Apparently it will be with the dealer in 2 weeks time!

That is a REALLY nice colour! I still can't help thinking when I see the XDrive badge that it looks like something you'd get from Halfords. Is it just me?? ;-)

Had my Mineral Grey beast for just over a week. Loving every second.

The break-in period sucks, the car literally wants you to floor it every time.

Awesome! Same colour as mine. First G20 I see also with Merino leather!

How is it in terms of comfort on UK roads? Is it a good daily driver?

Looks fantastic.

Please could you show more of the Merino, like others, first I've seen especially in Fiona red is it?

Congrats, lovely car!

In comfort mode, the ride is comparable to my 328i GT in comfort mode, certainly don't notice any negatives. In Sport Plus mode, it takes all of my focus not to gun it past 4.5k rpm!

Yes, It's the 'BMW Individual Fiona Red/Black Merino extended leather' option on the configurator. £990 extra. Didn't see the need to extend it onto the dash for £2,750!

Will grab some interior pics and post them a bit later.

I've been trying to get some insurance quotes and I am surprised how expensive it is to insure. Every provider is quoting around £1K, while my previous 5.0L V8 car was half that!

Did any of you guys find the insurance relatively expensive?

QuoteMeHappy came in around £900 for me, with other providers being ~£1.5k - I'm still to arrange it though.
