This is my first BMW. And the manuals are not that great. Mostly very vague information that isn't always relevant for your model.
They seem relevant to me, personalised by the VIN even to the colour, model and wheels are correct in the illustration. The ones in the vehicle and app are updated depending on the software version you have too.

Having said that I rarely read them until something puzzles me and then I come to this forum for an answer first 😳

Not sure if that is becuase we have been having some fair weather but it literally is warm after a few minutes which is great.

I’ve noticed this too. The active grill helps with this a lot as it doesn’t let air flow into the engine like regular cars with open grills until the engine is at least up to temp.

You have a 330e - it can heat the cabin without waiting for the engine to get warm, unlike a purely ICE car.

Agreed it gives a nice colour picture... but the actual information is pretty vague. It touches on the basics of most topics but very little detail. For example, it doesn't really go into the optimal way to run in a 330e. Just says do 1200 miles. but if that's all on battery then it's pointless. Driving modes aren't exactly explained in detail, like what does setting Gearbox in COMFORT actually mean?

Maybe its all in there somewhere, maybe it's assumed people know.

Thanks. I asked a question on here about PreConditioning before the car arrived but haven't tried that yet.

I have Apple CarPlay and HUD and can mute the mic when on calls/ conference calls by scrolling the right hand thumb scroll wheel. It may work when you have the phone active in the instrument cluster as well but I haven’t tried it.

I just found out after 2 weeks ownership, that I can have a rev counter type display in the HUD.

Unless you have the software bug which will not display it in sport mode only! You have to force it on permanently at the moment.

I noticed at the weekend that the drinks holders in the doors have little lights in them. Had not noticed because I haven’t used the car in the dark yet!

In the one time I opened the bonnet, I do recall seeing those silver round things with dimples on (whatever they are called)... so guessing mine doesnt have any covers on.

If no one beats me to it, I'll go out and take a look when it's stopped raining.

They are present on older cars and not the new ones. I'm not sure about the exact date when that has been changed. There are more differences between older/newer build cars. Cost saving?

I'm guessing cost saving - my 330i built in February 2021 does not have those plastic covers over the LED heatsinks.

It is not just me. There have been lots of updates all with it unfixed!

I believe there is finally a new version with it fixed?

Mine suffers from this bug too.

The BMW dealership that updated the car when it went in for warranty work (even though they were told not to update it) tried to blame the glitch on me by saying that I had the car modified and that's what was causing the HUD rev counter to disappear...

The car has had no modifications.

After just over 12 months ownership, set it to blip when locking or unlocking and now notice a click when selecting adaptive, sport, comfort, etc. Hope they put some kind of chime to the new speed camera app.

My F40 135i had rev counter only in sport mode.

Just noticed that maps are 2020.02 and I can download 2020.04.
You would expect that software will be up to date on collection.

You might find that U.K. and Ireland is on 2020.04 as that (or your preset region) will automatically update OTA. The rest of Europe may be on 2020.02 but you can update that manually, should you require it. I haven’t bothered as I ain’t driving to Europe any time soon.
