Plug gap recommendation
Doing my first spark plug maintenance job.
Have NGK 96206 plugs, running 2020 M340. Tune is Carbahn piggyback - https://carbahn.com/product/cbprc-00...e-b58d-6-port/ What gap is recommended on this/piggyback tunes?

Thanks guys. That’s why I am asking here. Seems quite a few different recommendations, somewhere between .02 and .03.

Always use NGK 96206, always use stock gap. Doesn’t matter how much power you’re pushing or what tune you’re on. Keep it at the stock gap. If your tuner tries to tell you otherwise, find a different tuner.

Is this just on this platform ? Man on my F32 n55 with stage 2+ tune from MHD if I wasn’t running 97506’s with a .022 gap I’d be getting all sorts of misfires and it just didn’t run well. I tried anything from stock gap to .024 and finally .022 seemed to be the sweetspot.

For my education can you please explain why narrower gap is not a good idea for a tune? Is your concern with the actual tune being too aggressive , or with the spark plug function?

Stock gap on JB4 and no issues whatsoever.
My understanding from PFT is to gap flash tunes based on all the add'l parameters tuned. Are you running the Carbahn controller now? How does it feel, or perform if you have data, v stock?

Running stock gap on stage 2 MG Flasher 93 octane OTS tune. Runs great.

It has to do with the way that iridium plugs are designed and the way that they function. They’re significantly more efficient than old school plugs and there is no need to change the gap because of this.
