Ordering 330i M Sport 2023 facelift and need opinions on two questions;

1) Is TB2 a waste of time when we get so few brilliant sunshine days when the colour really pops?

2) If I do go TB2, silver or black grille!?

We have a 2022 M340xi in Tanzanite Blue II. It's definitely a tad conservative in darker lighting, but still an extremely elegant color. My favorite BMW blue is Phytonic Blue Metallic, which is not available for M340i, but is available for 330i. It's a nice compromise between the conservative tanzanite and the candy-colored Portimao:

Phytonic Blue is exclusive to the Sport Line trim-- it isn't available if you option in M-Sport

After ordering in October 2021, finally picked up my new TBII with shadowline on Tacora Red from the performance center in SC. Picked color based on pictures in this forum, and can absolutely say it looks even better in person than I expected! Direct sunlight to shade the difference is incredible.

HIGHLY recommend performance center delivery, huge add to the experience.

In for window tint today, then I've gotta figure out what gloss black diffuser/bumper to add to get rid of that grey... any suggestions to fit the M340i square pipes are welcome.

Heres a short vid on the LCI in Tanzanite ! The rear black diffuser looks good with the TB - really sporty imo.

It really does look good! My worries for the new diffusor are gone as well, thought it might be a little too much with all the black parts, yet it kinda works!

And am I the only one who finds the small brighter reflecting body part underneath the kidney grill a little strange?!? Looks like a tiny mustache 😅 might be a little exaggerated by the TB due to its colour changing capabilities…

Other than that, really nice to have this blue colour on the new 3 series! 👌🏼

Yeah the diffuser looks aggressive and blends in well enough - not sure how its going to look on lighter colors but I like it on TB and Black Sapphire for sure.

I totally missed the reflector - had to go back and take another look🙃

How do you all keep TB from getting swirls after washing? Love the color but I hear it's really difficult to maintain. I'm wondering if people with the car in this color really find it hard to keep clean and not looking scratched.

Best advice I can give is avoid dealer car washes and automated washes with brushes and such. Go for the basic touchless washes if nothing else is available but I'd either find a good handwashing detailer, learn/buy what you need to wash from home, or find self service areas. You can also just ppf the whole car and swirls won't be an issue but that is a more extreme route where you plan to keep the car for years and years.

EDIT: It turns out that member OneGinja posted a photo when he took delivery, then disappeared from the forum. Very few posts -- all in June 2022. Accordingly, is there another member with Tanzanite and a Tacora Red that would be willing to share an open-door photo showing the combo?
