Rec a big brake kit for m340?

I have the standard 340mm rotors. What is cost effective way to upgrade braking power?

Any recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks

Two ways:

1. M-Performance kit - easiest plug and play option.
2. Utilize a set of front calipers from a G05 series X5M, a set of front rotors and full rear setup from a G01 X3M - most difficult and time consuming option.

Thank you sir.
What about a 3rd party like stoptech or brembo?

No worries - not that I am aware but again I haven’t been looking.

What are you trying to accomplish?
There are many aggressive brake pads available that work well with stock rotor/caliper.

Infinite Autowerks is working on a G80 conversion. I am first in line to get it. I was originally going to do the G05 setup but did not want the extra weight of the 395 rotors and was worried about them fitting under my 19" wheels. So I am in line for the first set of brackets and lines for the G80 brake conversion.

I would like to have brakes that are at least as strong as the 2016 340i with Track Handling Package. But if I have to spend more then I want to get as good a set of track brakes as I can fit.

I think the OEM m performance brake kit would suffice if that’s the case. Are you tracking your car? If so, just an FYI I have not had any issues with stock rotor and more aggressive pads. I’m also not advanced, I am a novice/intermediate.

You can get the M Performance one of you didn't get the ZTK package. But it is pricier. On the plus side, the rotors come slotted.

I'm also thinking about changing my brakes to something better than 374mm M Performance brakes... I investigate currently if BMW M3 G80 brake caliper and rotors can be fitted to BMW M340i at all. There's some adapter that should fit the bolts to 3 series caliper mount but I'm not sure. Best info I found so far is only this picture of caliper with adapter.

I would not want a flimsy aluminum adapter on my brakes. Weakest link…

You suggest it's going to melt or what xD People use such adapters and I never heard or read any complaints. It's stronger than you think.

Even BMW uses such adapters. Look at 8min 55 sec - I think it's the same adapter. He is swapping the original brakes:

I checked out some 330i VT2 class race cars and NLS practice in Nürburg last Friday… They were running AP Racing fronts and either M Performance or M Sport rears.

Are you tracking the car?

Thanks. I am not tracking the car except occasionally. But if I’m adding 200hp, wider tires, etc. i want to help out the braking department to keep up with the new performance.

BMW does not sell the aluminum adapters separate from the calipers. Also, the picture you posted are calipers from a G05 X5M. The new G80 M3 and F90 M5 have the same calipers but without the adapter.

Lol, so you think the engineers at BMW would toss a “flimsy aluminum adapter” on a competition model vehicle just for giggles….

From an engineering perspective direct fit is almost always superior. When you add In the adapter you 1) require longer screws 2) introduce a static stress riser such that a lot more of the braking stress impacts the screw as opposed to the caliper.
