Bimmercode Android 11

Hey everyone in case you're having problems connecting to Bimmercode on Android 11 with an Ethernet cable there are new directions. Maybe I am the only thick one out there but I messed with it for a half an hour until I noticed the new instructions in their manual.

ENET cable connection (Android 11)

1. Connect the ENET cable with your Android device using an appropriate USB to Ethernet adapter.
2. Connect the cable to the OBD port in the footwell on the driver side in the car.
3. Enable the Airplane mode on the Android device.
4. Enable “Ethernet tethering“ in the Android settings (“Settings“ > “Connections“ > “Mobile Hotspot and Tethering“ > “Ethernet tethering“).
5. Open the settings in the BimmerCode app and make sure the correct adapter type is selected.
6. Tap “Connect” on the start screen in the BimmerCode app.

You're not alone. I've been trying for the past week and to no luck. I even bought a new cable thinking the old one went bad even though my phone detects it. Thank you!!!!!

Hehe it's always nice to have company!

And I just tried what you said and it works. Not just for Bimmercode but with the BM3 app as well (though you don't need to be in airplane mode for BM3 since it needs an internet connection).

just like that i tried for a few hours. these instructions don't always work. sometimes it connects sometimes it doesn't

Not sure about Turkey but it's working fine in the US.

Lmao now I feel stupid. Should've checked for updates. I just assumed nothing changed from a few months ago!

In the Bimmercode app, in the manual go to section:

ENET Cable Connection and follow the instructions to set the Static IP Address. It will then work first time, every time.... and its blazing fast as well.

My setup was a bit hit or miss until I did this.

I just downloaded the latest version of BM3 modhaha but haven't seen any errors yet
