I recently bought my 2024 M340i xdrive at the BMW of South Austin, and the finance guy sold me a wheel/tire and extended warranty on the car from Hendricks without telling me it was Hendricks. I was convinced that I bought the BMW plans. He also sold me a maintenance contract, but that one is the Ultimate+ plan from BWM.

It's only when I looked at my profile on myBWM.com that I started noticing that the warranties didn't show, only the maintenance contract. And when I checked, I realized he had sold me a 3rd party warranty without being clear about it.

So, what I need to decide now is whether I should cancel or keep. I have 60 days (well 52 days now) to do that.

The problem is that I do not have the terms and conditions of the BMW plans to compare.

What I have are the Hendricks terms, which I attach here.

Can someone show me the equivalent terms for plans sold by BMW?

I paid $1888 for the 5yr Tire and Wheel Premium Plus plan
I paid $3489 for the 6yr 75K miles New Vehicle Platinum Plan

The finance manager tells me that the Hendricks plan is better, cheaper. For example, only $100 deductible vs $250 for the equivalent BMW extended warranty. And supposedly the BMW warranty would be $4840 and the BWM tire and wheel package would be $3732.

One thing I do not like is the requirement to return the car to the Selling Dealer if I am less than 40 miles away. Does the BMW plan have the same clause? I don't like it because the BWM dealer of South Austin is really far for me, and hard to get to, while the BMW of North Austin is very close by.

So, what do you guys think? Stick with Hendricks or switch to BMW?

Can I still buy the tire and wheel package after the point of sale, the finance Manager said that was not possible. Is that true?

I would recommend cancelling that all and not getting another but if you want to have an extended warranty for some reason then get a BMW Platinum. You can buy one at any time prior to your new vehicle warranty expiring and you should shop around as it can be purchased from any BMW dealer. When the time comes I can give you the dealers that I recommend.

The BMW Platinum should be zero deductible and the tire and wheel can not be purchased after delivery.

I also bought warranties but ended canceling them all within a few days from South Austin. I still have not got my full refund back and it has been +2 months. It has been a frustrating experience and the finance department will have you run in circles so they can continue to profit off the interest. I wish you the best of luck of you do decide to cancel. I would ask them to give me a check directly instead of crediting my balance. That way when I pick up the check, I can pay it off ASAP.

I bought BMW extended warranty last year few months before the original warranty expires. It was $2500 for the highest coverage, zero deductible, 7 years. You can search the extended warranty in this forum. I bought from here.

I know, was just speaking to the term of coverage as some folks think it is actually 7 years of coverage.
