Welp…..(UPDATED)
Me and the wifey decided to take a day trip to the central coast. Decided to take the M340i this time. Didn’t even make it 70 miles from the house (in hindsight glad we didn’t get to far for AAA tow).
I was cruising at about 75-80 and heard a “pop” from underneath the hood. Im assuming a belt of some kind judging from my research as it is a common problem with the mild hybrids. 16 month old lease, bone stock, 10k miles. **UPDATE** Got the car back today. So far it made it home from the Dealer 🤣. Time will tell if this will be an ongoing thing moving forward. As suspected, it’s the water pump pulley “issue.” Last edited by CLS1; 10-06-2022 at 07:24 PM.. Reason: Uploaded diagnosis from BMW |

Yeah I read about the belt contamination issues from multiple sources leaking coolant, oil, or silicone... it's unnerving.
Also there are threads about water pump failures. Hope they fix all of the issues quickly and painlessly. 👍 |
