It’s not the size of the grille it’s the design of the grille.

If it would look like the Auto Bild's photoshopped picture than I'd have no complaints.

How about Auto Bild's render with "real" M bumpers? A few other tweaks are in there too.

The last photo is made by chucho1026 by taking the leaked image, splitting it down the middle, creating a mirror image of the right half to produce an uncovered left half, and splicing that with the right half of the original.

I'm not a photoshopper but this front with reduced kidneys seems to help IMO

I just don't see why the kidneys need to be that large. But it is what it is at this point

But the grill size is not going to be smaller. But I agree, I think an 8 series grill would look great on this thing.

The original photo in this thread looks to be M Sport.

Yea I'm still just trying to wrap my head around the busy design is all.

Unfortunately for my personal taste, you are correct and whats done is done. The original post will be a real thing soon and I will live with it. Not for me but happy some are excited for it

Nah. This thread is just one big heap of crybabies throwing a tantrum and threatening to buy a Porsche, but when push comes to shove they’ll be lining up to get a new 4.

It’s what happens every time. Just look at the G20. That launch was also met with a tonne of crying, and now everyone seems to love their brand new M340i.

I’m not worried in the slightest about the new 4’s future.

I did buy a Porsche.

Hopefully it looks better in the flesh, but the pictures are not doing it much, if any, justice.

Don't agree at all, but you ARE entitled to your opinion. What's unnecessary, is calling us crybabies if we complain. I didn't complain at all about the G30, in fact test drove one, and convinced my gf to lease one. It's a great car, and you can see the lineage. The grill is proportional and not that much different a shape, so the heritage or evolution is clear. Not so with the 4, it's horrid, my opinion of course, and from what I've been seeing and hearing, that opinion is clearly in the majority. Obviously, I can't speak for anyone else in that majority, but I can tell you for me, the size, shape and proportion of the grill is a definite deal breaker should that design spill over into the G30 or the next generation of the F87. My '20 M2C and my gf's '20 M340i, will be our last BMW's. If I wanted a ridiculous looking Hot Wheels type car, there's plenty to choose from that are much less money. If you like the new 4 series, or didn't at first but warm up to it enough to buy one, good for you, you're paying the bills, you get to decide. Just don't presume that I'm a crybaby and will change my mind, or I'll get over it... because it'll be MY decision and my money.

I know most people hate the grill but I like it or at least open to consider. However those headlights are so bad. Common it's 2021 model and these days headlights are supposed to be thin. Look at new F-type.
Bmw is always late to the game with exterior/interior designs.
