The DCT felt great, very smooth in auto but super fast shifts in manual with the aluminum paddles. The AWD felt a bit more front biased than I assume the M340x would. Thing is it's about $150/mo less than an M340 and they're still doing 24mo leases.

The M340 is probably going to be a more reliable car, it is for sure a faster car is a straight line, and it's a better looking car from some angles. I think BMW is probably a bit more substantialas it weight a few hundred lbs more. I'd have a hard time actually moving away from BMW, but the Alfa is a good possible alternative.
The Giulia for sure is an amazing car to drive (I leased 2 back-to-back). For the price, I'm not sure the driving feel can be matched in the sedan class. It truly is a driver's car.

My main gripe is that I wanted more power. It's plenty powerful for the 4-banger that it is, but the m340i perfectly scratches that itch for more power but not too much. Truthfully, if I could swing it I'd be in a Quadrifoglio, but they lease terribly and have only gotten worse due to all the supply chain issues. So to me the m340i is a great middle ground vehicle, which is something that Alfa doesn't offer.

And for what it's worth I had zero reliability issues in 3.5 years of Giulia ownership. My wife drove a Stelvio for 2 years without issue, too. The stigma of Alfa's reliability during their initial U.S. stint still looms large, unfortunately.

I do prefer the BMW interior styling over the Alfa though. The touchscreen dash incorporation on the Giulia looks awesome, but it's laggy as all hell. Overall the tech in the Alfa is a few steps below BMW for sure.

Gret looking Guilia! Glad to hear they are reliable cars now. But like you, in the end I felt the M340 suited me best and my new car arrived at the dealership today. I hope to take delivery by end of the week.

I can't imagine the M340 is worse than the F30 340 is on gas. If so, I average 27-28 MPG in my F30 and it won't suck too bad. Although, $5 just plain sucks regardless.

From my experience owning both, the M340 is about the same or slightly better than the F30, despite having 82 more hp. Of course, people will experience different results based on how they drive.

My F30 is around 360hp, it has the MPPSK.

I really like your car, mine will be PB also. It looks so good in person!

Lol it costs $85 to fill up my SUV yesterday… with regular. It was $70 to fill up my M4 today with premium. I wouldn't be surprised to see a $100 fillup sometime this year.

Premium is already $4.50 here. Diesel is $3.99. Regular $3.85.

BMW= 25mpg = $.18 $/mi
Ram= 15mpg = $.26 $/mi
4Runner=16mpg = $.24 $/mi
Trackhawk=13mpg = $.34 $/mi

Even with Premium, the BMW is much cheaper to drive out of my lineup. The break even on regular is to drive a car that gets 21.4mpg.

Hi All! I just joined and am actively looking for a 2020 or 2021 G20 M340i. I had a few questions, and I figured this group could answer rather than the scattered responses on the forums.

1. Is Adaptive Suspension worth it?

2. Can the 2020 idrive be updated to include Android Auto and if it can, does it work as well as the 2021 models?

3. What are the preferred exhaust options? I love the sound of Dinan, but the AWE track is compelling, as well.

4. What performance tunes do you recommend for the car?

5. Would you recommend a 2020 or 2021?

I appreciate your help and I look forward to running that sweet B58 here in the Pacific Northwest!

The unsung hero of fantastic G20 mpg can be the BMW star tires.

At least the all season RFTs with the BMW star can be 4-5lb lighter than non-BMW star ones, and the reduced un-sprung weight can help with mpg.

Don't be so fast to write off BMW's MPE. It's a very good exhaust option if you're looking for something that gives pops and crackles in sport, but reasonably quiet in comfort. I'm very impressed with it.
Now if you want something really loud all the time then you'd want to look elsewhere.

I mean this in the nicest way, but set aside some free time and search the forums for all these answers. They have been discussed at great length and ultimately will require research + your preferences to make the final decision.
