Greetings all. Long time member and bmw owner here. I recently picked up a used 2020 M340i that was pretty well loaded up as I tend to like my cars. One of the reasons I bought a used car was because it had features that were later removed due to the pandemic. Anyway, the car has DAP, DAPP and executive package including parking assistant plus with 360 cameras to name a few. But I recently discovered I was missing some apps in the app section. The car has 11.21.63 software. I'm currently missing the option to download drive recorder. I'm also missing several other features/apps including android auto, auto window, m Laptimer, Amazon Alexa, and uneven road surface.

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated as I'm stumped. I've called bmw assist and they confirmed I have the required packages to have drive recorder and I should take the car to the dealer. The car is there now.

Any idea why I am missing these apps?

Reboot your idrive - hold power off button for about 30 seconds.

Already been done several times now. A refresh was sent to the car as well from the dealer but I think now they will reflash the cars software.

Have you tried logging into your Connected Drive account online and checking to make sure those items are showing as active subscriptions?

I had this problem, here's how I solved it:

- Check on ConnectedDrive to make sure you have Drive Recorder
- Update and reload apps (in the app screen, use the option button on the console)
- Update ConnectedDrive services (in the Subscribed/Not Subscribed screen, also use the option button)

The last step was what I did to finally download and enable Drive Recorder

Drive recorder will not show on your apps until you subscribe and then select permissions within the menu, same with Traffic cameras app.

When I log onto connected drive portal it shows connected drive pro with all of the services available until 2023. However, no other optional services such as drive recorder or traffic cameras information populate for purchase.

Hmm, that's odd. I don't have the 360 camera on mine, so the drive recorder doesn't show up when I look at ConnectedDrive, but the traffic camera option is there. Have you tried calling the ConnectedDrive help #?

I'm happy to report that I was finally able to convince the dealership to re-flash the car. It sucked that it took 5 days for them to realize there was a problem but now I have drive recorder, android auto, Amazon Alexa, M Laptimer and uneven road surface app. Still waiting for auto window to show up.

"Menu" in the car or on the phone app?

Traffic cameras is not showing up in my apps either... but Drive Recorder is. I subscribed to both yesterday.

I'm still missing auto window. I've seen from other posts that it has been pulled a few times. Can anyone confirm they have the auto window app showing up?

Are you sure drive recorder is available on 2020 models? I thought it wasn’t a thing until 2021 or 2022…

I’m missing the traffic camera information app. I just purchased a 2022 330i and picked it up about two weeks ago. Currently I’m on a trial for the traffic camera info but it doesn’t work and there’s no app. I have been working with Connected Drive and they keep escalating the issue. I have tried resetting iDrive, updating the apps, all to no avail. I’m afraid the trial is going to run out before they fix it.

FYI...in case this is an issue for others, I was having issues with not seeing the Traffic Camera Information app as well (in both my 2023 X7 and 2023 X1). In my X1 the app was not visible (when looking at my "vehicle apps"). Neither was my drive recorder. But both were visible when looking at "all apps". It seems that the vehicle apps filtering is not working correctly. I did a full reset of my X7 (in consultation with a Connected Services advisor) and am still waiting to see if the app shows up (after waiting a full 30 mins, per the advisor).

I had a similar experience with my phone once. I downloaded this cool app for tracking my workouts, but after an update, it just vanished. Turns out, the app wasn't compatible with the new software version.

It's good you reached out to BMW assist and took it to the dealer. They should be able to sort things out for you. Sometimes, it's just a glitch in the system that needs a little tweaking.
