Ilyam5 ,
Well, I have been using a combination of the M340 Ordering & Pricing guides, coupled with the BMW North America on-line configurator for 330; the packages were what have been really confusing to me -- and that's where the on-line configurator helped some. Anyhow, the on-line configurator for 330 has this Blue Ridge Mountain Metallic (in my view, a really nice light metallic bluish-green). While it's not listed for the M340, I know BMW has the Individual program for many different colors so I am including it with the Individual cost. BTW, have what some may call a dumb question. I am not sure whether to get 18" or 19" tires. Along those lines, other than the dimension, what is the difference in:
Appreciate any thoughts Thanks

Get the widest tires that will fit in the front without hitting wheel wells at full lock. Get the same for rear to achieve square set up to fight under steer and be able to rotate wheels. Obviously get the highest performance tire in non run flat with proper aspect ratio to achieve the same diameter requited by manufacturer to maintain speed rating. (+- 5 is OK). fro 18s it is usually 40. 255/40/18 or 265/40/18 should fit That is what i do for the track. For the street - it is about looks sometimes - so people go for bigger wheels (heavy) and lower profile tires. it might look better but the ride quality suffers. lower profile tires will always feel more bumps and transmit more road imperfections. |

Wasn't trying to set anyone up, just trying to get some other thoughts. My intuition from many years of driving is kind of what you laid out -- smaller diameter, but wider tread area Again, very much appreciate your thoughts and that of others

However, Depending on your plan for snow you might want the all seasons. If you get any of the performance tire options they are absolutely not for use in any snow or ice conditions. Most will tell you to not even use below freezing. Personally on my current 440 I ordered 19s with performance tires so I could get the staggered width (wider rear, they look the best, factory all seasons only come in square size with the narrower rear tires) and then swapped the tires for a set of pilot sport a/s 3+ all seasons on day 1. Others will tell you get dedicated winter wheels and tires and all seasons are not preferable in snow. The only thing everyone will agree on is xdrive or no don't drive performance tires in snow. |

Anyone have any idea why BMW left those packages non standard and at 0 cost on M340? I believe it is first time:
- 2VF - Adaptive M suspension and - 316 - Power tailgate My only thought is - for those customers who are planning on tracking the car and choosing to save weight/complexity. Arguably regular suspension is more robust/bullet proof (like in M2) for regular track duty. I can't imagine trunk button saving any weight though.... So you loose kick open and button close lock? for the regular sedan trunk it is not a big deal - it is a light trunk, not like hatch or Grand Coupe. |

That being said... I find it hard to believe this is a move made for track rats. It is super odd though.

I noticed the same thing. When you chose the Executive Package it removes the Parking Assistance Package and removes $900 from the price. It must include ZX1 and ZX3.

Thanks for the clarifications on ZX1/ZX3. It sure does seem like an error in the ordering guide. My salesperson is already looking into this, and I'll report back if he learns anything new/useful.

Here's the flip side of this same discussion:
When you look at the packages on the BMW North America configurator the 330, it sure looks like ZPK is included in ZPX, AND when you see note in the ordering guide, "ZPK can not be ordered with ZPX." you have to ask the same question a little differently -- how do you get 5AC auto high beams, 6UB gesture controls & 5AZ laser lights if you order ZPK??

So, here's my "draft" build, pretty much straight from the VIR. I welcome any thoughts or pointing out any misses on my part. Several specific questions:
1. What is 5AP Decoding for no-dazzle high-beam assistance? 2. What is ZTM Tier 2? 3. In post #65, 4UR Ambient Lighting was included in ZPX, as opposed to separate $250 option. Why is that? Regarding Ambient lighting, you can get it either of two ways:
This probably allows either seat type to have it and makes it look like BMW is "saving" you money if you for leather??

My build - first draft.
M340 X-Drive C36 - Dravit Grey Metallic MAPQ Cognac Leather Fine-Wood Trim Oak Grain Open-Pored ZPP - Premium Package ZPX - Executive Package ZDA - Drivers Assistance Package 1PL - 19” Jet-Black Wheels with performance rft. 248 - Heated Steering Wheel 688 - Harmon Kardon Surround Sound 2VF - Adaptive M Suspension 316 - Power Tailgate Black Kidney Grill I believe 4UR Ambient Lighting is included in one of the above packages and does not need to be ordered separately.

From the 2020 M340i pricing guide .. ordering "Vernasca Leather and not ZPX will add 4UR to the order" at no additional charge. Therefore, adding Vernasca Leather and ZPX means you can add 4UR for $250?

I think you are simply justifying BMW screw ups. Ordering guide for 330 clearly states all the parking package items separately under the executive package. On x5 tall items are separate as well. So it is not the same It is a mistake on BMW side. And it is not the only one 330 xi is stated not to be available with track pack. Not so. I have a local car at the dealer 330xi with track pack at 62k Configurator for 330 is messed. It does not allow combining assist and assist pro. Plus on 330xi it lets you choose non runflat wheels and adds track pack with no indication of it. On summary it does not show adaptive suspension even though it is included List goes on Last edited by Ilyam5; 02-27-2019 at 06:40 AM.. |

Ilyam5 ,
Not all trying to justify BMW's screw ups, rather just trying to work my way through the morass that BMW has created with this FUBAR'd situation between the on-line configurator and the pricing & ordering guides. Glad to hear that you can order several of these "package component" options independently -- because given my druthers I'd go for the ZPK Parking package over ZPX if I can order 5AC auto high beams, 6UB Gesture control & 5AZ laserlights separately -- and allow me to get all-season non-RFT tires and get 840 speed delimiter. Believe it or not, my local dealer still hasn't gotten any information on the M340s -- even gave him copies of the ordering & pricing guides. Oh well, just want an allocation so I can set up an ED
