Utter nonsense and nothing more. It adds a level of complexity that serves NO useful function other than in the owners mind.
And those idiotic "modes" have now resulted in a silly array of 1990's looking control buttons.
I would be funnier if it weren't so stupid.
Agreed! My 340i LCi 'eco' mode is simply dangerous. Try to pull out of a busy junction... press the gas pedal... virtually nil response whatsoever, just unbelievably slow & sluggish acceleration! A complete waste of time. Comfort mode, whilst usable has over light steering and still not particularly sharp throttle response... so I get in, push start, then push sport, every time without fail! This is supposed to be a 'sport' saloon/sedan (or maybe not any more!!) so why give us pointless 'modes' which are purely there for marketing purposes and because every other car maker does it!?!?

The eco mode doesn't even save me any cost, when I've tried it on the odd occasion it adds virtually no distance to my range whatsoever! A total waste of time.... can you tell I don't like it?

Is the 340i getting the mild hybrid system (48v) ? If yes any estimates of CO2 emissions? Our tax on cars is calculated using emissions, so that is a key figure.

Yes. But no CO2 figures probably until press release or later.

If they did that wouldn't be a bad thing for most male drivers.

However, they are not as dynamically appealing as former BMW owners wanted it to be.

My LCI 340i Msport is a noticeable improvement over my pre LCI 335i Msport. Specifically, the "feel" at the steering wheel is not there, and that aspect has been covered to death.

And the overall suspension tuning is lacking in both initial and LCI adaptive sport suspensions.
With the utterly ridiculous coming of driver "modes", BMW also tried to make one car have 2-3 different types of ride and handling tunings.
The net result is that none of them are the best they can be.
A suspension tuned for cruising comfort and controlled compliance for the commute is not so easily transformed into a proper sport sedan suspension tuning.

Unfortunately, BMW is still at it with the new G20 and this time they have separate buttons for each mode, as if that is going to make the actual physical aspects of the car behave best in those different and disparate "modes".

I will keep my mind open and reserve final judgement after driving the new G20.
Technology advances and perhaps BMW has learned more black magic with suspension tuning.

After all, up to the E90 3 series BMW was highly praised for how it worked some black magic to create suspensions that were both compliant for cruising and rough roads yet still sport driving capable and solid. And they did all that will old analog technology.

is that black magic called "don't use run flats?" I remember the first e90s with sport pack were back breakingly harsh in normal driving due to the first gen runflats.

On my F30 with m-sport , once i swapped the runflats out for some performance all seasons (not even summers) , it magically turned sportier AND compliant.

I dig the coasting feature the ZF tranny provides in Eco Pro. I only wish I could activate this feature without the sluggish throttle.

Ever since BMW's RFT, I swap those out ASAP.

Is it confirmed that it's not coming? Because the F30 wagon came.

It was confirmed that the F31 would be the last one imported by SCOTT26 sometime back now.

Yes I (accidentally) optioned non RFT's on my 340i. I went for the orbit grey wheels and at the time of ordering I didn't realise they came shod with Michelin Pilot SS tyres! So glad I went for this as these tyres not only stick like glue but are also extremely compliant and comfortable!!

You lucky bugger.
I went for the same wheels as part of the M Sport Plus package on my 440i GC LCI last year and got the dreaded Bridgestone Potenzas, which are as awful as modern RFTs get

Or they mistakenly called it an M340i when really it's just an m-sport 330i

I think we may have different wheels... doesn't the M Sport plus pack get the two tone (orbit/silver) 19 inchers? Mine are 18's (see pic of my car on my profile page!)

Ok, that would explain things - yes, mine are 19"'s - still, worth getting 18"'s for!
