I have Tetragone on my M340i and love it still after two years. My 2005 330ci has wood and I like that too. They all look nice to me.

Is what I ordered as well as I did not like any of the standard or optional ones; and price difference is acceptable. Also took this carbon on the steering wheel. But did not take alacantara steering wheel as not sure I would like it and may be too much for an m440i; its not an m3

I agree with those who say wood is not best in a 3/4 series, but I say it is because of how the trim in the 3/4 series is done.
In most luxury cars, wood trim extends from the dashboard (both sides of the instrument cluster) and onto the front doors. There can be a break with some other material at the edges, but there is visual continuity of the trim from the center console to the dashboard and to the front doors.
In the 3/4 series, the trim is only on one-third of the dashboard (passenger side) and the center console. Both areas seem unconnected and there is no continuity to the doors. This is what takes away from what could have been a luxury appearance with wood.

Here’s a link to the M Performance carbon trim if anyone needs it. No, I don’t have it installed. I am still waiting for my vehicle order to be built.

Mine was from factory with individual Piano wood. It was dirty and scratched all the time.
Retrofited open pore trim. It is nice and soft.

It cost me $1335 installed at the port. Not cheap but in the end I felt it was worth the investment, especially if I end up keeping this car. You're sitting inside the car and always looking at and touching the interior. Furthermore, it's somewhat rare being that it's not a "factory" option so I liked that value-add aspect of it.

Whenever I personally see the other standard trims, it reinforces my decision and don't regret it. To me, it's that cool and adds a bit of individuality to the car. I made a similar decision to go with the CF side mirrors and trunklid spoiler for the same reasons. A tad bit more aggressive look, otherwise it does in fact look like a standard G20.
