This is country specific - I have a Dutch g20 330i wit prof pilot and with 07/2019.39 update: in NL it shows stop sings, but not a red traffic lights and it does not adapt the speed automatically when it changes nor to the road ahead. In Germany and Austria the same car shows red traffic lights (but does not stop on them), adapts the speed automatically and also adapts to the road ahead like bends/turns, roundabouts, etc. If you drive to Serbia it does none of the above and even does not show the speed ...

I posted elsewhere from an article that the reason that BMW charges for CarPlay is to offset development/support costs from the wireless implementation. Meanwhile, have we seen a software update that didn't require a dealer visit?

I can only hope that BMW can via a software update allow for wired CarPlay, so it can work as well as it did in the Chevy I rented a few weeks ago...

Just picked up my car yesterday after the software update and recall on DME, and I will say I have noticed a much better/smoother feeling between shifts from a stop. Also, ACP has engaged rather quickly every time I've been in and out of the car. Haven't noticed the drivers assistance view yet although I don't have the driver assistance pro so not sure it applies

Perhaps I am missing the point. I thought that Over the Air (OTA) updates for iDrive were going to roll out to all customers, whether they are having any problems or not?

For what I've read that would eventually be the truth. But since OTA updates doesn't seem to be generally available people rely on old fashioned dealer updates.

Not sure if this applies to all countries but according to BMW Canada - "the next OTA update will be taking place in late September"

By that point, it will hopefully be a 9/2019 update and not the 7/2019 update

Hi everybody I have some news from the Dutch BMW customer service. The rolling out of the update has gone wrong. We all know this by now. Basically its all experimental and more difficult then they thought.

The problem is in Germany and the last info was that they are working on the issue and the problem is expected to be fixed in oktober 2019.

Of course this does not mean much. But at least it is something and it means they need a lot of weeks to fix this and we should forget about getting news in the next couple of days (a lot of us are checking everyday).

Hope at least they are right it will be in oktober.

Picked up my car last week with 03/2019. Today I brought it back to the dealer and they installed 07/2019.39 for me. Took them an hour. Not sure about the new features as I used the 03/2019 software only for 2 days.

What has gone wrong? The actual updated software or doing the update OTA?

What has gone wrong is technichal issues with the rolling-out. So spreading the update on air does not seem to work properly.

The update itself works fine as you can read here. New cars have the update installed.

It sounds like azwillnj is the only one reporting to have it, and he's running a different version of the software (07/2019.28) from the factory. It makes me wonder if they took it out of the 7/2019.39 for some reason.

I got the update to 07/2019.39 one week ago - no assisted driving view! But some changes in the cockpit. Looks like a part of the view... strange.

This seems to happen for cars produced before July and then upgraded at a dealer to .39 - I guess it's a bug but not sure whether has somebody has reported it to BMW yet and/or if they are aware.
