Does your factory screen currently have a touch sensitive grid?
It was the chip inside the screen that doesn't have the ability to do touch, not the screen itself as far as I know.

My dealer confirmed that my M440i convertible that's awaiting a ship didn't get touchscreen delete. Even though I don't use the touchscreen much if at all. At least it's there!

Hoping to catch a ride on a ship soon!!!!

If you have your VN, you can verify what the dealer told you by going here https://www.mdecoder.com/

No touchscreen delete listed in the Mdecoder.

Passenger lumbar is deleted however. But not many times I have anyone else in my ride so I'm not too upset over it.

Just installed mine today, took about 30 mins to remove dash and screen. Works exactly as it's supposed to now. Normally I wouldn't care because the BMW eco system works so well with the iDrive controller but stuff like carplay makes it so much easier with touch. $500 credit from BMW for no screen, $325 shipped screen and $0 install. I'm pretty happy with it.

Man I'm so tempted to do this. I can live without the touchscreen very easily, but I don't *want* to. I've had my car for 10 days and I've already encountered a few scenarios where a quick touch would be waaaaay easier than scrolling through stuff. I feel like for a few hundred dollars the cost will more than pay for itself over the span of ownership.

Does that screen fit the 3 series too?

It actually should fit the 3 or 4 series. I think it's a well worth upgrade. We can offer coding solutions to get it working once you have it.

Just ordered my new car and apparently the Deleted touch screen doesn't show. Fingers crossed it comes with it. Has anyone recently recieved a touchscreen with a new order?

The VIN checker doesn't seem to work for me in the UK. Does anyone know of a site to help out?

If you ordered 3 or 4 series and came with touchscreen delete, we are happy to announce we can offer this, part + coding.

I am assuming that the coding required is to VO code and remove the 6UY option. I sourced a touchscreen and will be doing the retrofit soon. I may hit you up for the coding.

Got it done, took about an hour for the overall process. I bought a screen from ebay. Hardest part was taking the dash vent trim off to expose the 2 screws for the touchscreen. Unplug old screen and plug in new screen, put trim back and that is all the mechanical bits needed. You then use esys to VO code - remove 6UY from vehicle order and code the headunit. Cost less than $500 for the screen credit and the dealer was more accommodating on the price due to the lack of touchscreen.

Wow, a BMW dealership was willing to code out 6UY? That's awesome to hear. Congrats.

Can you point me in the direction of the correct touchscreen for a '22 m340i? I think it might be time to fix this issue on my own.

I think he was talking about the dealer being accommodating on the price of the touchscreen not that they did the coding.

Correct, I was referring to the dealer accepting a lower offer since they knew it was more difficult to sell the car with the touchscreen delete. Plus year end sales goal and such, I got 5K off my car in December.

This is the part number of the screen: 65508798742 or just search for G20 screen on ebay.

The screen I got came off a 2019 car.
