Transportation blocks left in my car

So, I recently took my car to the dealer for some noise coming from front suspension.

Apparently, they never removed transportation blocks and I been driving with them for over a year now (12k miles).

I was curious if I actually caused any premature wear and tear to m suspension and if I should be worrying about future issues.

Terrible. That should be part of their pre delivery inspection. You know coming from a mass market brand(Ford), I had high hopes for BMW service as a luxury manufacturer but they have been severely lacking.

I have no issues with the car itself but the service centers are truly terrible. I’ve yet to find one that’s consistently decent. Maybe that’s most major brand service centers. If I keep this car out of warranty I definitely wouldn’t be going back to the dealers at all.

Rant over. In your case, maybe take it to another dealer or an Indy to see if they notice any damage. More experienced members can chime in on the shipping blocks being left in so long, but I can’t believe it’s good for the car long term.

I was a bit upset with it as well. I was thinking to do the same thing. I have 2 dealerships near me, and I might take it to another one and explain them the situation.

On the note of those guys been completely incompetent is understatement. I had cel, for active grille, that went away I think it was due to heavy rain. But those guys were bragging about some codes I have for high pressure in my charge pipes. I was like WTF are you all talking about this is not what threw check engine light.

Very annoying, but very unlikely anything was damaged. As you can probably imagine you’re not the first and I’m sure you won’t be the last. It’s pretty rare, but it happens.

Yeah, that’s true. So how are you feeling about the suspension now?

To be honest it not HUGE difference. Yes, u can feel I am going over bumps smoother, but overall it's not like 100x better. But definitely softer in comfort modes.

I wonder if your complaints about the HR springs were related to these blocks
Do you have photos of them? It would help others identify if they still have them

Thanks

In any case, I wont be dropping my car at this time, just in case there is a pre mature ware on suspension, these F**s will void my warranty 100%

Please report this to BMW Customer Service and make sure they acknowledge it. Also make sure it was properly recorded in the service notes.

This way if there is some possible issue in the future, they cannot make up some BS reason to deny coverage.
