Stolen cars and Comfort Access

Are new BMW cars still being stolen because of flaws in Comfort Access or is this now no longer an issue?

My 2020 G21 m340i disappeared off my drive 2 years ago
Its replacement (a 2021 G21 330i ) has a disklok on it every night!
no idea if the security has improved since

It is the way of the UK I'm afraid. Everything from cars to motorbikes and even lawnmowers need to be locked down.
Doesn't happen in France or Germany to the same extent yet.

A quick google search shows that France is substantially worse than the UK for car theft, unless things have changed dramatically in the last couple of years.

I didn't find any data for lawn mowers.

It’s not all of the UK either. Had ‘risky’ cars all my life, Cosworths, Scoobies early on and various Mercs and BMWs, never had any issues, but I’ve never lived in any of the hotspots.

A Google search is no substitute for having lived for 20 years in the UK 20 years in Germany and 20 years in France.

There were 70,649 cars stolen in France in 2023 vs 64,087 in the UK - so I’d say France is worse than the UK for car thefts.

So you’re comparing each country decades apart?

Forgot all about that! They ended up giving them away for free to stop people nicking them!

I’d say it’s irrelevant……. No matter you live, there are just nobs!!
In my area (supposedly upmarket), my road and behind, 5 x BMWs were knicked in 1 night! I got told this when I moved in and arrived in my, then, M340 and told to be careful

I leave my RS keys at the back door, no pouch, nothing. Let them take it, couldn’t give a t*ss, rather they take it and go than enter the house with family or escalate unnecessarily.
