This played a big part in my decision to rush an order in (which I finalised Wednesday) for my M340xi. I don’t want the post LCI if it comes with that dash... I want a few buttons!

It is. I was just looking at it again and it just looks so cheap. It looks like the dash you'd have stuck to one of those boxy little electric runabouts. That said, just looking at the Honda e, I think that dash is better!

Looking forward to the Carwow review next year where Matt rips the dash off and throws it in the bushes (as opposed to the rear parcel shelf)

I agree with the other comments. One of the things I really like about my 2018 530e is that I have physical buttons/switches for the AC, radio volume and the seven memory buttons.

The move to everything on a display while inexpensive for the manufacturer is a disaster for driver safety. One should not have to take one's eyes off the road to adjust the temperature or air flow.

I wonder if they are also putting the seat controls on the display? I hope not.

Enjoy those knobs and switches while you can! They are all eventually going away. IIRC the CLA45 already had some seat controls via the display, albeit MB's MBUX system is far superior to most and it looks sharp. I hate this trend of everything going touchscreen.

If true, I may just buy my M340i when the lease is up.

Hang on I see no lack of buttons from those spy shots, possibly the case? Yes but it's not 100% confirmed.

The spy shot looks pretty cool. It's something I'd definitely openly try.

I remember thinking my dad's 4 piece vintage Kenwood stereo system (brushed aluminum, you know those) was the coolest. Today Alexa+Sonos fulfill my house audio pleasure. Catching what's being sold these days? Don't get me started on film cameras, haha.

I’m not against change, but IMHO, this looks cheap and not worthy of a premium German brand. Looks like they’ve thrown away 50 years of design and based it on a drawing done by a 10 year old!

And now they are not selling such features as nightvision, leather dash, soft close doors, etc. All features I got on my car. So I am thinking that I will keep my current 2018 530e for some time.

Could be worse, they could have messed with the grills. Honestly I'm fine with the dual tablet design, although mostly because I like it in my Merc. It will probably look fine, guess we'll have to wait and see.

Looks like no model can avoid it, there's already spy photos online.
