420i v A5 40tfsi

First up we’ve got Mat in the 4 Series. It’s the 420i edition, which is powered by a 2-litre turbo petrol to deliver 184hp and 300Nm. Alongside him we’ve got the Audi A5 40 TFSI. Under the bonnet you’ll find a 2-litre turbo petrol which can deliver 190hp and 320Nm.

Not surprising. The Audi 2.0 engine is a peach. And very fast too. Even if it were the 430i Vs A5 45 tfsi, the result would've been the same. The A4/5s are very fast cars for 2.0s.

I have to disagree, I think the 430i would actually beat the 40/45 TFSI, 255 hp/400 NM also launch control factored in. I ran a stock 330i 13.8 1/4mile (not great) but still about 1.7 second difference

Stock 330i in 13.6-13.8s. Stock A4 in 13.5-13.7. I had the A4 B9 and now have the G20 330i. I agree. My G20 is a one off with it being the slowest on the planet stock. But my A4 was extremely fast even in stock form. I have other friends with stock 2017-2018 A4s that do 13.6s consistently. And some of them with B9.5s with the mild hybrid system are doing it in 13.4s!
I even had a loaner A4 B9.5 a few months back and that was very fast (compared to my stock 330i).

PS: The A4/5 45tfsi puts out 261hp/273lbft. I wasn/t comparing the 3/430i to the A4/5 40tfsi.
