here in Germany our BMW dealer says that ventilated seats are reserved for the 8 Series in order to achieve better differentiation between the model series.

However, I can't believe it myself. What do the US BMW dealers say? Will the ventilated seats really be deleted in the 2025 G23 and G24 models?

What dealers say is actually not so important

But the fact is that the removal of ventilated seats was put in official memo, so it's gone for good

So ridiculous that ventilated seats are hidden by the uppermost models. Same with the 3 series. You have to buy an M3 to have ventilated seats as an option.

From what I've been told it's not they don't want to offer it for the 4 Series, it's due to a parts shortage on something with the seats. The X5 is supposed to have it on most models but they've been limiting it from the factory.

pretty sure with so many new models upcoming and with the current EVs, they are eliminating options/combinations etc.

I just ordered a 2025 M440i xDrive Coupe. Ventilated seats were available as an option but only on two leather choices, neither of which were the one I wanted/ordered. Sort of disappointed. It's interesting to hear about this being due to shortages. I was wondering why they wouldn't want to offer it with more leather options.

[rant] The model/option limitations BMW(and all car manufacturers!) are imposing are ridiculous and unpleasant! Oh, you want the small cubby by your left knee? - get extended full leather interior for $$$! Oh, you want width adjustable seat back? - get real leather! Oh, you want ventilated seats? - get 4 or 5 series!...and on and on...[/rant]

I loved the previous generation 4 series but when they released the huge teeth I went off bmw. Went to Audi. Then we were shopping for a second car and I saw the m340i that has the classic grille and placed an order.

If the 4 series had the option for the classic grille I would have ordered that.

I’m always staring at the 4 series but not for a good reason. People always say the grille grows on them and they don’t fall in love with them at first sight.

Well you know what, the human mind is very good at adapting.

I was wondering why the M3 CS at my dealer still had the small cubby for storage. The leather dash option includes leather on the lower part of the dash.So maybe that is all you need to order to get the small storage cubby.Whats interesting is that the CS also still had the puddle lights in the lower part of the doors.

SW19 - yes, all I know points out that to have the cubby you need extended leather and then it's automatically included.

I think if you order a 430i with the a dark paint color and a black grille then the grille isn't really noticable or offensive.

When the G22 was announced I thought this was the worst design of a car yet. Me and all my friends were sharing photos of it on social media and laughing at it.

A few years later, I own a G26, and I find the design to be one of the best out there

Believe it or not, the 4 Series actually has been flying off the shelves:

“There have been countless of social media comments bashing the oversized nostrils, but it turns out, BMW might be onto something. The BMW 4 Series family had 50,777 sales in 2023. To put things in context, the G20 BMW 3 Series only had 33,997 units sold to customers in 2023.”

Source: BMWBlog

The “teeth are ugly what is BMW thinking?” narrative is dead. Now, you can choose not to like it of course, but that actually makes you an outlier.

Interesting, as ventilated seats are also nowhere to be seen in German configurator. Which leather options those were?

According to the BMW of North America Pricing Guide for the 2025 4-Series LCI Coupe (G22), Front Ventilated Seats (4FH) are only available for Black Vernasca Leather (MAH7) or Mocha Vernasca Leather (MAMU).

I like the part of your sales volume quote, above, where the author opines correctly that the 3 is the better looking car.

Personal opinion doesn’t matter anymore. The masses have voted. Data tells all.

I'm not sure the sales figures show that people like the grille on the 4 series better than the 3 series. I am expecting delivery on a 430i next week and ordered it not because I like the grille on the 4's better (I don't) but because I like the form factor of the 4's better and can tolerate the grille enough that it is less important to me than the other reasons I prefer the 4 over the 3.
