I've had a 25+ year relationship with that dealership. As car stores go, they're pretty decent. Their service department is superb. |

This car makes me sad. Between my wife and I, we've had 4 different Acuras (2009 TSX, 2013 ILX, 2015 TLX and 2018 RDX) that we leased. I really liked the brand and we had zero problems with any of the cars when we had them.
I was looking forward to the Type-S and almost delayed my M340i purchase in March just so I could see what it was all about. I think the normal TLX looks nice so was hoping the Type-S would up the driving experience. I have yet to drive it, but based off all these posts and the reviews it does not. I also liked the simplicity of the brand as far as options and trims used to go. Back when I got my TSX the only options were automatic/manual and nav/no nav. Made it easy to find a perfect spec'd car and you didn't get nickeled and dimed on all the features. They've gotten so far away from what they used to be. |

Interesting, this was Leith Raleigh- Leith Cary was @ MSRP and welcoming him to come in for a test drive as well. The white one on the showroom floor at Leith Raleigh has about 10k worth of dealer extras on it.

Hey everyone!
I was doing some searches on Google and came across this thread. Just wanted to pop in to say it's nice the G70 gets props from the BMW crowd. I've had mine since late 2018 and it's been a great car! No shade thrown at the M340i on the G70 forums, we all know it's beast! |

There are not anywhere near 10K of extras available for any TLX. Wheel & tire upgrade is about it.

The G70 interior shown on the clip looks caddy/buick-like, I think the G20 interior looks better than G70. The exterior style of G70 is not bad though. |

The G70 and Stinger are handicapped by TCU limiters. Launch control builds no boost to ensure a long transmission life span. I installed a TCU with the torque limiters removed and did a real quick Dragy run today. 0-60 in 4.1 in the first try (Magazine time with 1ft rollout). I'm pretty sure a lower time can be had with more practice. This was with no other modifications. The M340i is making more HP than advertised, so it's just legit faster but it would be cool to see another race with the TCU limit removed. I think it would be a much more competitive race but the M340i would still take the win.
The G70 kinda feels like a cousin to the 3 series because the car was designed by former BMW head engineer Albert Biermann. I was hoping the TLX Type-S would be a great car but it just seems like Acura got the fundamentals wrong and are using SH-AWD to try and make up for it. In this segment I really think rwd platforms are the formula. It's just too heavy with massive exterior dimensions and small interior dimensions for it's size. It certainly looks great though! |

The Genesis G70 and Acura TSX Type S are both 330i M Sport competitors and not really competitive against an M340i.
Personally I'd rather own the 4-cylinder BMW than a 6-cylinder Acura or Genesis. |

Own an M340iX and drove the new TLX Type S on three separate occasions. The last two times I was able to actually put it through some real driving tests to get a sense for dynamics.
First… the Type S is slower. No doubt about that. Second, the Type S handling far exceeds that of the M340. Road feel and turn-in are excellent. Steering isn’t overly weighted. Has the steering feel closer to that of a 911 (yes, that’s a fact because I’ve owned a 911 and can attest to it). I didn’t say the driving dynamics of a 911, either. So don’t confuse the two. I’m talking about steering feel alone. Three, transmission precision and response.. excellent. Even though the 340 is quicker, it feels sluggish as fuck compared to the Type S. Fourth, handling and traction is Excellent.even on crappy P7s it didn’t let the back end slide out. In a hard corner suggesting the suspension tuning and balance is excellent, much like my old Audi A4. The 340 would have drifted halfway across the road. I know that is in part due to the LSD. But still. Should be able to get more grip from a supposed sports sedan. Fifth… the infotainment system on the Type S is a pain in the ass and it is fully centered, not facing the driver. The 340 is much easier to manipulate and more intuitive. The Type S made me not even want to mess with it which drops its usefulness significantly. My two cents… if you don’t give a fuck about the infotainment system and you don’t care to be a bit slower, the Type S is hard to beat. If you still give a shit about those things and want to keep everything at your fingertips and are willing to make your own suspension adjustments and tweaks to gain more road feel and the steering wheel weight doesn’t bother you, keep the 340. |

The G70 3.3T performance numbers vs the M340i aren't far apart. The launch is really the biggest difference but in terms of on a roll it's not huge. The handling and overall package the G70 competes very well. Both great cars

This is golden, have you attempted to race one on the streets? Even from a roll in comfort mode G70 gets killed, no contest. Not all of us utilize LC especially in DD. G70 stands no chance in keeping up in he real world stock for stock.

2022 G70 $51,945 2022 TLX Type S $54,145 2022 330i $54,645 2022 M340i $66,970 At least the way I'd order each; the M340i is really in a different class. Still rather put my money in a 330i over the Asian competition. |
